Sweet justice, or so it must seem? Andrew Symonds is the premier T20 player in the world, and yet he was sent home a day before the tournament began. And all because of a custom clause in his CA contract that prohibited drinking in public. It didn’t matter that he was a success in IPL, and that he lost a substantial amount of money for not playing the full IPL because of national duties (Pakistan series in Dubai, Abu Dhabi). If he had known last month that his international carrier would end so soon, he could’ve easily retired and played in the IPL instead for the full $1.35 million that he has a contract for.
