Yes as for professionalism from Aus, they did give Symonds a chance, which is not a case in other situations. As for Symonds, he was no different than Shoaib, he is also a street rat:
Reports in the Australian media have said that Symonds went out for a meal with his team mates on Friday to celebrate Shane Watson’s birthday but he then went out again and did not return until around 4.30 in the morning, looking worse for wear in the team hotel the next morning. (Where was he?)

…..Symonds was drinking into the early hours of Saturday morning and that during the team warm-up before the Bangladesh match his team-mates could smell alcohol on his breath.
