SYED

Salam Alikum.

So my questions are Who are Syeds?

Why are they superior?

No offence to any one but I was recently visiting the rsihtay wala thread and there I saw some falhan falahn is syed rishtha. What is the authencity of him being syed?

and lastly why does it irritates me?

For me everybody is equal. No SYED STARS HOLDRES!!

Re: SYED

they say fire don’t burn syed(s)
Next time you find a s syed us ko aag laga ker dekhna…

Re: SYED

I think Jews said this for them. They said that they are the chosen one and this concept finally crept into Islam - a religion which detests personality / cult worship

Re: SYED

:omg:

Re: SYED

hmm Real Syed people have “shajrah” (family tree ) to prove their authenticity

Re: SYED

this concept goes against the very essence of the teachings of our beloved prohet pbuh…
per my personal view, anyone that adheres to this belief is endangering their imaan.

Re: SYED

I think its weird

Re: SYED

If lineage is determined by the male heir in Islam, how is it possible to be a ‘direct descendent’ of the Prophet when he didn’t have any male offspring survive long enough to procreate?

Re: SYED

precisely.
and I believe that there was divine purpose in that as well…

Re: SYED

^Yes, I believe in that very strongly as well…

I read in an article that King Abdullah of Jordan is a “direct” descendant of him as well.

Re: SYED

Exactly..Islam is all about equality, no body is superior/inferior to anybody. In addition the purpose of standing in a row during namaz is to give the feel of equality.
Our ex PM Yousaf Raza Gillani oftenly say, Ma PM rahoun na rahoun, Syed tu rahoun ga & his syed sahibzaday made fatal hajj corruption, so does it mean Syeds are allowed to loot Haji people.

Re: SYED

Aaggan la k Sanu Ishq Diyan We Ap Meethi Neend Sonhda Way…If that what you mean!

Re: SYED

you may want to check this thread out as well http://www.paklinks.com/gs/all-views/539189-are-sayyads-progeny-pedigree-bloodline-descendants-of-the-prophet-saw.html

the concept is that they are descendants of the prophet through bibi Fatima and hazrat imam hassan and hazrat imam hussein …

but apart from the label and a connection to the prophet (SAW) …what’s really different? it doesnt make you any less human…you are still just as much prone to sin as anyone else.

i really dont think it makes any sense to think they are superior … thinking yourself to be superior goes completely against the teachings of islam and of course of the prophet (SAW) … if anything being a syed should probably make you more humble because just having that label carries a greater responsibility.

you never know as far as aakhirat goes it could be very detrimental to be syed… maybe syeds have a tighter noose around their necks…shayad Allah unki pakkar zyada karenge…ke tumne mere mehboob ki aal aulad hone ki sharam na rakhi :cb: (sorry bad joke :bummer: )

So lets break it down to multiple sections

1- Lineage- right or wrong, real or fabricated people often indicate some lineage. So before we single syeds out, lets see who else may be out there. Farooqi, siddiqui, usmani, Qureshi, are some of the ones I know of people with some claim to a group based on lineage. So claim, true or fabricated is out there and is very broad.

2- Pride in being of some group- Rajput, butt, Chaudhry, yusufzai, mengal, jatoi etc. not unique or of province, nation, sect, religion… Or of a particular school, organization, ..not a novel thing

3- marrying in only your own group…really have you seen matrimonial ads in Pakistan? It’s all about clans and our own version of different castes/zaat/classes. Some say its a remnant of the caste system in the subcontinent that is ingrained in collective minds, others say its the tribal aspect of Arabs but gone wild. It’s really not just syeds looking for syeds only, it’s much broader.

4- feeling one is superior religiously because of their lineage. That I think is one place some syeds can be blamed of an incorrect viewpoint of being chosen ones, because its one’s actions that matter, plus I guess prayers for someone, not a lineage, real or fabricated. I personally have never met any syed who holds that viewpoint though, although I know it exists.

Re: SYED

fortunately I’ve not met any Syeds that hold that concept near and dear to their hearts.
those that I do know have questioned the sentiment and have ended the discussion with the suggestion that, if anything, they feel a greater responsibility to walk the straight and narrow…

Re: SYED

Many People say that Ahal-e-Sadaat (Syed) are superior and will take them to Jannah or unn kay qadmoon key barkat say hamari bhi bakhshish ho jay gi  chahay woh kuch bhi karain , Jahalat key intiha :hinna:

Re: SYED

“Many” is not really an authentic way of blaming a group of people who happen to belong to Prophet’s family.
Instead of abusing Syeds this way, actually, it is more reliable to say that there are “many” who think that they will go straight to jannah after blownig themselves up in the name of jihad.

Re: SYED

.
I wonder why blame people who happen to belong to Prophet’s family?!
No one said that anyone is superior just because of his lineage. It looks like you are a victim of those people who happen to call themselves Muslims but who hate anybody associated with his family.
Please understand this. In Islam what God looks at are actions, aamaal. Not lineage. All Syeds, and all non-Syeds agree to it. So please do not abuse Syeds based on some fictitious stories perpetrated by some people with malicious intentions.

Re: SYED

What an obnoxious post.
ye kis qism ki nafrat tumhare dil mein bhari hui he Syedon ke khilaf?!

I don’t think people would even say that about any non-Muslim.

Re: SYED

Thank you X2 & Muzna, the voices of reason as usual!!!

I am a Syed(a), my taya in Khi has the family shajra. My Nani was a from a Syed family on both maternal and paternal sides. Double Whammy! My khaloo (first cousin of Ammi) is also a Syed from both sides.

We were never, ever raised to believe that this meant we are infallible or above anyone else. I’m sure is exists, but Alhamdullilah, I’ve never seen or heard anyone I know exhibit such behaviors. And this is the first I’m hearing of the “Syeds cannot burn in a fire” :cb:
