Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani [Shia or Sunni]

Hi Guys,

My purpose for creating this is not to start a debate on Shia-Sunni issue but just for information purposes. I have been searching out through internet and tried to find out whether the new being elected PM of Pakistan is a Shia or Sunni. According to my finds I have some references where it says that he is Shia Muslim and some claim that He is Sunni.

A friend from Multan also just told me that he is Shia.

Please do not quote any internet references by instead please tell me if you know him or his family personally.

He is Shia obviously, But does it matter. I still think Asif A Zardari is the best choice , if he can take over in the next 3-4 months.

As far as I know Gillanies are not shias.

Where are Gilani's from.... Gilan province in Iran and they are Shias.

Does it matters whether he is Shia or Sunni , more importantly he is a muslim and Pakistani.

We need to get over communal, racial and religious divisions.

Think like a Muslim and a Pakistani.
