Syed Hammad Raza; dead in line of duty

Hamad Raza, the slain Additional Registrar of the Supreme Court and personal staff officer to Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, in his last few e-mails to a group of DMGs humorously skipped the questions about the “inside story” of the March 9 “adventure”.

I am not going to give it away as this will be my bread and butter post-retirement in the form of a best seller (Qudratullah Shahab!!),” reads Hamad’s e-mail forwarded to me by one of his friends.

In one of his emails (presumably the last email), he wrote to the Group: *May I then submit my own case before this august forum, with you of course being in chair. 1. Not every minute of my time spent in the office has been in discharge of official duties; 2. Not every call from the official telephones provided to me has been official; 3. Not every litre of fuel provided to me officially has been used for strictly official purposes; 4. There have been certain occasions during field postings when I have not paid my utility bills.

My esteemed Murshid, these are some charges that came up against me during the investigation of “introspection” and I plead guilty on each count and await your verdict as to where I stand.*
And the verrdict was to die…this verdict was not of the group of services he so hard-workingly commissioned, but of those who play with their arms not to defend the country and its borders but to kill its legitimate sons at service!!
I miss you Hammad!!!

Re: Syed Hammad Raza; dead in line of duty

Maybe he knew too much about Ch Ifti's harkaat and thus needed to be eliminated. :)

two can play at that game.

Re: Syed Hammad Raza; dead in line of duty

Of course, blame the CJ as he is against your dictator. After all, he commands an Army of killers...oops that is the dictator.

Never mind that Raza was actually on teh side of the CJ...oop's, that doesn't matter, he killed people who support him, SHEESH!

Re: Syed Hammad Raza; dead in line of duty

one unfounded conspiracy theory can be countered with another. Live with that :)

PS: say what u want, I dont really care what happens in pakistan anymore. musharraf lives dies, mullahs take over, military takes over, PP takes over. Does not impact me.

Re: Syed Hammad Raza; dead in line of duty

except for the fact your theory doesn't make sense

I understand your exasperation at the situation in Pak.

Unfortunatley it effects me directly.

But as I said previously, as long as Pak is an ally with the US on the war on 'terror', the country will float along, except in Karachi where we have the big problem of the MQM

Re: Syed Hammad Raza; dead in line of duty

It is said that he is personal assistant to CJ and all important files of CJ were under his control.....so may be** file of ISI selling lost people and sending them to Guantanamo bay.**...is not found by General..so he killed him...

Re: Syed Hammad Raza; dead in line of duty

Another drop in the bucket of the corrupt state of Pakistan...
Pakistan is much like the Rome of old... Dirty murderous politics, institutionalized corruption, and a self styled ceasar and all!
Lets hope Pakistan doesnt end the way of Rome.

Re: Syed Hammad Raza; dead in line of duty

Well, Rome had its empire and glory (and working sewage lines), we don't even have that.

Re: Syed Hammad Raza; dead in line of duty

This guy was murdered by either MQM goons or by ISI agents. He was one of the CJ's witnesses, and the ISI had earlier taken him away for 4 days to get him to try and give false evidence against the CJ. His wife, being a UK citizen, had even called the British embassy 4 days before the murder telling them that she believed their life was in danger and asked for protection as she did not trust the Pakistan police.

Unfortunately help did not come...and another innocent soul, a young father of 3, had to pay the price.
