One of the major reasons of our political leasers downfall is going back again and again to sycophants and flatterers and never learning or admiring from rational minds. If you look back at last few years Irfan Siddiques’s columns in Jang they are only filled with Nawaz Sharif’s praise and belittling of other politicians. How can these improve leaders vision or guide them when they make them feel like emperors and kings. Leaders should get some rational minds who can criticize them when they are wrong.

**ISLAMABAD: The newly appointed Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Affairs, Irfan Siddiqui, on Monday expressed his determination to play his role as a bridge between the government, media and opinion makers to create an environment of harmony in the national interest.
“I would seek cooperation from fellow journalists to become an anchor between the government and media to steer country out of present challenges,” Siddiqui told INP here Monday.
Irfan, a seasoned columnist, analyst and author has been appointed as special assistant to the PM on National Affairs, and a notification in this regard was issued by the Cabinet Division on Monday afternoon, according to which he would hold status of a federal minister.
He said that he had accepted the responsibility to serve the country vested by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and he would use the best of his abilities to maintain an excellent working relationship between the executive and the forth pillar of State.
“I regard journalists as my brothers and respected colleagues and would certainly need and seek their guidance and opinions regarding achieving this national duty and would look forward to hear them on matters of national importance and for the betterment of the country,” he added.
Irfan Siddiqui, a recipient of Hilal-e-Imtiaz, would assist the PM on issues pertaining to national significance as well as media. He apart from authoring four books, had been contributing for various newspapers and periodicals on regular basis for the last 25 years and is widely known for his in-depth and critical analysis of issues at national, regional and international level.He had been an educationist for more than two decades before entering into journalism
