Re: Swype

lol you two! Aaliyah which phone do you have? :D

Re: Swype

I jst have Sony Ericsson X10 :frowning:

My contract with rogers still has a little bit over an year to do before I can get another phone for free… :hinna:

Re: Swype

Well it's an android device so you can still check out swype. I don't have an S3 like all these guys either.

Re: Swype

^yeaaa...coz my keyboard is so messed up...I think its my hubby who went and changed it...and now I dnt know how to change it back to the way it was....so maybe this will help...otherwise it takes me like 2mins to type one line!

Re: Swype

:hehe:

Re: Swype

Husbands and androids don't go hand in hand. They're jealous :D

Re: Swype

^ur right…he should just stick to his BB…and he has mota fingers as well… :cb:

butttt…he has been looking at the S3 like a kid eyeing candy :cb:

Re: Swype

again, my question remains... what are the key differences between Swype and the built-in swipe keyboard/predictive-text engine on the S3?

I tried it out for a couple of days but didn't feel the need to replace the default swipe keyboard... what am I missing?

Re: Swype

I used the builtin once and tried the beta version now...didn't notice any difference. Maybe if I use them both a bit more then I will see it. So you are right - so far same thing.

Re: Swype

  1. Word prediction is much better in Swype beta than the stock keyboard
  2. I felt the voice to text feature was more accurate
  3. Better spell check
  4. I also feel that the words I use most often are learned better by Swype beta

Maybe someone else can do a more "technical" review, but for a masoom android user like me, this is my humble opinion.

Swype

I want swype, damn apple!

Re: Swype

Apple bura nahi hai, it's just the iphone, silly :D

Re: Swype

Swype beta is amazing i downloaded it a while a go and introduced the hubz to it.... one of the languages i have n their is hinglish...it makes my life soooo easy cuz when the default is set to hinglish it not only predicts roman hindi/urdu but also english text

Re: Swype

Oh cool!! I have just the English and Spanish. How do you get additional languages? I know they have a huge selection.

Re: Swype

settings>language and input>setting button next to swype beta (under keyboards and input methods)>language options>download languages

then select hinglish…once hinglish is downloaded go to change current language and select hinglish again

Re: Swype

its so cute to see the little convert niks raving on about samsung galaxy s III when we all knew this like.. years ago.

how cute. really :D

Re: Swype

:hehe:

I like swype a bit better this time around…but I’m still slow at it. When I have to type a long txt I get frustrated and just tap lol. Although I think I need more practice because once I’m used to swype it will be way faster to txt compared to tap method.

Re: Swype

Thanks Lexxie. Will follow your instructions.

Well, how many threads did you start sharing your excitement, missy? When I like something, I want to share it with my friends not keep all of the chicken in the backyard :D, if u know what I mean :faizy:!

Give it another few days. I’m so good at this now that I was swyping on my laptop today and getting frustrated that it didn’t work :D!

Re: Swype

cuz i rarely visit this forum!! otherwise you would know how much i lvoe my phone.

i’ve recently started coming here because you post here

Re: Swype

Wow people actually like swype. I can't stand it :\ I'd rather type it all out.
