Was Islam Spread by the Sword?
- Islam is a religion of peace
- It was spread by word of mouth and preaching by the Prophet (pbuh).
- There were a few major battles fought during the Prophet's (pbuh) time but no women or children were ever harmed. They were fought solely on the battlefield not to spread Islam but to fight persecution.
- The "Sword of Islam" was mainly used for protection not conversion, therefore to say that this is how Islam was spread would be incorrect.
