I am visiting switzerland in a week time eeehhhh i cant wait :stuck_out_tongue: .

Any body having previous xpiereince of visiting switzerland plzz report here and tell me which places should i must visit .

Just for the info my flight is for zurich and i will stay for three days i hope three days r enough :frowning: .

I will post pics when i come back safely and soundly :insha: .

I went to Zurich last month. But it was just a 3-day-business trip. The area around the Zurichsee (Lake Zurich) is quite nice for an evening walk. Apart from that the ā€œBahnhofstrasseā€ is a famous shopping street in Zurich. Itā€™s close to the main station, ie Bahnhof.

Take a 59 minute train ride to Lucern. It is really beautiful.

Thx Umer , i am also going for 3 days but i am going on a visit just ser sapata nothing else :slight_smile:

i hav noted down ur mentioned places and i will must visit there :k: .

We hav arranged a car for our self as well so i think it will easier and quicker to get to lucern.

Lucky you. Iā€™m going to Zurich again from 17th to 19th August. But again, itā€™s a business trip. :bummer:

Well not sure if this would help but i would suggest taking the car down from Bern to Geneva. The road trip is great. I would suggest sun set time as at that point when you are on the swiss alps with Lac Leman at your foot and the sun setting. Its ****ing breathtaking.

Up in Interlaken or rather Grindalwald you have frozen ice caves. You have white water rafting. You have the revolving resturant in Schilthorn where a James Bond movies was shot. That resturant is good, not great food but great view. Right in the middle of the Swiss alps.

I would suggest for your three days spend 1 day in each area. The French, German and Italian. Lugano is great but to far away. I would personally suggest Sion and Cran Montana. Davos is good fun but only if you have a summit or something.

Cities worth seeing in the summer are:

  1. Bern (they have a great rose garden it is beautiful and the old city is what 800 years old. The streets are still cobbled which is great).
  2. Geneva (my home town so i am gonna be biased)
  3. Montreaux
  4. Zurich
  5. Chur (but too far away if you are going for 3 days)
  6. Lugano.

Aarau, Basel et al suck big time.

I visited Switzerland for 2 weeks last summer,
Landed in Zurich, rented car ( from Kuwait Avis ) and drove to Nendaz resort in the south, 5-6 hours drive. It was excellent. the people are very friendly .
Also to the resort in Alpine resort, All up in the mountains , breath taking views, hiking ...etc

drove to geneve, lousane , veevy, montrex, (sion - drank water from a natural fountain in the church zone , excellent water )

Found difficulty in food, since we were in resort , we made our own food and carried with us .

day starts fron 4 am till 10 pm

Just be careful from the sun, wear Pcap , there is a type of flu with extreme fever. The rest is great!!!
