Again, you are implying through twisted words that Benazir and Zardari were declared innocent, which is not the case.
They were declared guilty by the trial court. The appeals court only agreed to listen to their appeal. The appeal court was still in the process, and BB and Zardari had been told to come and defend themselves, as they are the ones who had filed the appeal. But they did not show up. This appeal was filed in 2003.
I have a feeling that BB had been in backdoor discussions for an NRO with Musharraf for an eventual return since 2003, as she knew they could not defend the money laundering and bribery charges…so it was vital for her to find an alternate solution.
