Swine Flu Vaccine

has anyone given their child (6 months-5 years) this vaccine?

got nieces and nephews in the risk group.

i would like to hear from others if they know any kids in that age group who have had the jab and about any reactions (or not!!) or what side-effects are to be expected etc?

Re: Swine Flu Vaccine

babies are in the highest risk category. here, kids 5 yrs and younger got first after the healthcare providers. then the seniors 65 and over...after that the young people upto age 18 got it...we were the last ones to get...i got mine 3 weeks ago. there was shortage of vaccine.

Re: Swine Flu Vaccine

We were scheduled 2 wednesdays ago to get the vaccine. But on Monday, youngest came down with it, quickly followed by eldest. So we will get the vaccine when its available.

Its SO much safer to get the vaccine than it is to get the actual virus. And since we cannot be sure that the 2 boys actually had H1N1, they will get the vaccine along with the rest of us. Its a nasty flu for sure, it CAN be deadly (but actually not much more deadly than seasonal flu) but heck man, we get seasonal flu vaccines without batting an eye. I dont get the reluctance to vaccinate against a potentially MORE serious strain.

Re: Swine Flu Vaccine

Both my daughters got the vaccine and did just fine.
