We had a pond in our garden when we bought the house. My son fell into it in the very first week! Suffice it to say we had it filled in straight away. :D

I’ve been thinking about all the points you guys made…so far I’ve come up with few options.
A swimming pool in a conservatory…something like this.
But I plan to move the dinning table in to the conservatory to turn the dining room into a family room but not sure if dining table next to the swimming pool would be practical?

everyone I know here in dallas who has a swimming pool in the backyard also has a child locked safety gate between the patio door and perimeter of the pool. very easy to install. that's what we will do inshallah when we find our next home that hopefully will have a pool.

Yes it does ... doesn't it ... But sometimes to swim ... One just has to jump in the deep end ... The thought of floating should be a means to build up that courage ...

we had a beautiful pool and very private yard in our very first house.......we loved it....used to heat it up to the point when there was steam rising from it.....would go for a dip at 11 pm etc.... I also had a very special relationship with the pool boy..... ahhh....those were the days.....
then pool boy and I had a baby ... became not only expensive to maintain the pool but safety became an issue since we were not willing to put a separate fence around just the pool......we moved.
dunno whether I would do it again or not......
