Re: Swimming Costume....
well the way they're posing and smiling someone could still be attracted to them...
They're just models......you don't have to pose and smile like this in real life.
Re: Swimming Costume....
ofcourse this is modeling, the pool was cleared, etc... and if there are no men then why wear hijab and long sleeves....

Many women wear hijab and long sleeves when they're in public. Whats the big deal?
Re: Swimming Costume....
woho chillax u guyz...if u think the women who prefer 2 wear this r backward or shud go back in time than its actually you who needs to widen yr so called broad mind. Learn to respect others for their preferences and choices. I myself wud wear a costume while swimming but that shudnt give u the rite to look down on those who dont want to wear one.
canpaki- were u tryin 2 be funnie or u really think any1 and every1 can afford 2 have a personal swimming pool?
Re: Swimming Costume....
Are you a female?
Yes:)...And I do want one as I am constantly taking the kids to the swimming pool..and I sooo wanna go to the big slide...some friends of mine have tried wearing a swimming costume underneath and a t shirt and capris on top, but still I havent tried that since cotton tshirts do stick to the body..I have heard that these or something like these r avalaible in Dubai or made in Malaysia...Do u know any website where we can order?
Re: Swimming Costume....
hiding face is not an Islamic obligation its a cultural thing.
VEDIC's MULLA MODE = ON
yah but the face can turn me on.. they shud hide it.. they shud hide anything that can turn a guy on right? they show me their sexy lips and their cute eyes and yummy cheeks.. i'm turned on.. u gotta hide that stuff too.. just hiding the hair is not doing it.. most guys care more abt the girl's face than her hair.. so why hide the hair but show the face? please complain against these haraaam swimsuits... they r also showing the girl's sexy figures i can see the shape of their butt.. this is haraam.. they shud have loooose swimswuits covering hair face everything..
VEDIC's MULLA MODE = OFF

Re: Swimming Costume....
We are just giving our opinion, not enforcing them on anyone, neither are we looking down on anyone. You guys can do what makes you happy. :)
by the way I still can't understand with all hijab and stuff, why would a woman swim in a public pool, wouldn't she still be catching attention from the men? Anyway, have fun swiming. :)

if you mean public pool is mixed pool then they should not be in the pool.......but if you mean public pool is a women's only pool where men are in the area then this should be acceptable bcoz it is no different to a hijabi in an office, in a shopping mall or on the street.
Re: Swimming Costume....
Why is it that when people make an effort to conform to islam they are ridiculed but when things are made in conformance to unislamic modern cultures they're praised?
Re: Swimming Costume....
I think it looks great! As long as it doesnt cling to the body. I am not so sure about the fabric.
Re: Swimming Costume....
Vedic...evenif you dont happen to agree with the concept or any of Hareem's idea gives you no right to come in here and argue senselessly. If you don't agree with her then just ignroe her...
Re: Swimming Costume....
I think there is a difference b/w swiming and going to work or mall. Anyhow, I am not going to argue. I just gave my opinion. These suites very pretty but I am afraid calling them islamic swim suites might be mocking islam. But then again this is just my opinion. And I really appreciate people who dress in modesty not that now I have anything against those who prefer bikini. Either way it is a personal choice.
I am sorry if anyone was offended by my views but they were just my views in general. :)
Re: Swimming Costume....
At first I'll admit that I thought the concept was ridiculous. But now that I look at the pictures, it just doesn't look that bad to me. I'm not saying youll ever see me wearing one and swimming in the pool but if a Muslim woman who follows hijab was to do that, I on't think that'd be a bad thing. I don't see why some people hve to come in here and mock and ridicule them. Nobody's forcing them to wear that. These same people talk about nosy desis/Muslims who look down on other Muslims for not being as "pious" as them, or whatever, but they are doing the exact same thing.
Lusi I don't find the idea of it mocking Islam..maybe hte costumes themselves or the "modelling" aspect of it might be, but not the idea/concept..and that's what designers are trying to sell. Going out to eat, shopping or just walking around in the neighborhood/mall, going to the gym, those are leisurely activities, and so is swimming. Unless the costume happesn to pose a hazard or causes injury, then whats so bad about wearing it? NObody's forcing them to, just like nobody's forcing someone to wear hijab/abaya. It's just another activity that they want to enjoy and shouldn't let society forbid them from participating in.

I agree with you and that is my basic issue too, ppl can disagree if they want. but hey religion sells, makkah cola and qibla cola come to mind...
