My sister just came home, with a huuuuge smile on her face.
She’s a yr older than me and abt to get married to some1 she has been engaged to for over 2 yrs now.
This is why she was so happy:
She visited a turkish woman today who is into fortunetelling. This veryyy sweet lady (as my sis puts it) helped 2 of my sisters colleagues when they were really depressed and became a good friend of theirs. Anyhow they talked my sis into coming with them and see what she had to say to my her. I’m not going to write down all the details here but she’s into coffee fortunetelling (don’t ask me what that is) apparently she looks in a cup or something and then she starts telling stuff.
To my sis she said that she had a veryyyy good heart, that she was an extremely positive person and that very rarely a cup is as clean as hers. Then she started telling her abt her marriage life (she didnt know my sis was abt to get married) and that there was some1 who cared abt her a great deal, who would litterly do anything for her. Now there was more stuff but I’ll leave that out.
She also said that there was going to be some bad news in our family. A familymember with a disease. Now after telling me all that she said “Shirin, u HAVE to come with me!” and I was instantly like NO WAY!
Ok so my sister was really very impressed by her and believed her. But I’m not into this stuff and I said “ok so she was veryy positive abt u but what abt that last remark of her, the bad news?!..that is exactly the reason why I dont want to visit her” … I can’t deal with that kinda stuff, I’ll forget alll the positive news and only focus and worry abt that ONE bad news. And she sooo tried to convince me to come with her but I decided(a looong time ago!) that I will never let myself in with this kinda stuff.
I’d like to know what u guys would do, are u open for it?
Maybe some of u have already visited some1?!
Shinno dear, it goes like this. You drink this small cup of turkish coffee and leave out some at the bottom. Their coffee is kind of not filtered yuk!. Then the fortune reader takes the cup and starts to moving it around till there is a pattern on the sides of the cup. Then they start reading it. Don’t ask me how, but I will tell you what I think of it. Its b***t. first of all their coffee tastes aweful and secondly, how the hell can u tell about someone future reading the coffee, sorry but I don’t believe all this nor do I believe hand reading or any other method of telling your future. It’s all a big fraud. They tell you only what you want to hear. Sorry I don’t have anything positve to tell but for fun its alright dear.
One is mine, which is that I wouldnt visit this lady simply because I am not into that stuff.
The other is from a hadith that i have read. If you follow it(hadith), it says you shouldnt visit a fortune teller, and if you do, there are negative consequences which I wont write here but you can always PM me for a reference if you like.
The coffee thing goes like this, you take Turkish coffee which is very thick in small little cups, and when you are done the fortune teller takes the cup and puts it upside down on the plate for a while, then she takes the cup in the right way and reads what goes on. This sort of things is done in Turkey, Iran and most Arab nations but not in the Arabian peninsula. Anyhow, they can read tea leaves and the palm of your hand and all sort of weird things. Besides its haram and I would stay away from it.
Thank you guys for explaining me what this coffee thingee is all abt!
Saadia
I know what u mean with all that :).. I also don't believe in it but it's funny to see how excited my sis is.That's cuz of her collegues who told her abt the lady, so I guess my sis was curious to know what she had to say to her.
I will definately never get it done!
