Ok, I have developed a sweet tooth for the last couple of weeks or so, meaning, I feel like eating sweet things, like chocolate etc most of the time & because of which my weight has increased by 2 kgs already
If it continues like that, then within short time,i would gain a whole lot of weight which I don’t want.
I need to stop. Help!! How can I stop the craving? What works?
Re: Sweet tooth
Are you in the UK? Has the recent craving been bought on by Asdas £1 easter eggs, because I've been eating about 3 a week!
If not maybe it's your bodies response to low blood sugar, maybe you should get checked out by a doctor.
Re: Sweet tooth
No, I am not in UK. Then that’s perhaps because of low blood sugar. But what to do in such a case? ![]()
Re: Sweet tooth
Try to replace the sweet things you're eating with healthy food that is also sweet. I have a HUGE sweet tooth...love chocolate.
When I am craving sweets, I try to munch on Korean pears...they are sweeter than apples and very satisfying. Also my favorite fruit.
Re: Sweet tooth
**i found myself in the same boat about a month ago. it was quite a rude awakening :( i just LOVE Black Gajar ka Halwa which i got a lot of it from India. since it's NOT available in Canada, i stole it from the fridge and put it in my work-place fridge. i ate and ate and ate like on my every trip to the fridge...and, i made very frequent trips everyday for 10 days. :)
when the time came for my 3-month blood work routine, my physician told me if i had been eating sweets lately...i smiled and sported grin on my face...i was also very embarrassed being caught. my blood sugar level sure was way higher. :(
now, i'm back to my old self...no sugar! life ceased to exist for the the way i knew over the last month and a half :(**
Re: Sweet tooth
The best thing to do is have a bit or two or dark chocolate, it kills the craving and it doesnt cause as significant of a weight as milk chocolate...thats what French ppl do....
Re: Sweet tooth
I get myself some that have only 100 calories and taste pretty good for fudgsicles and suck on them when i have a craving for chocolate specifically snicker bars

Re: Sweet tooth
Try eating low calorie sweet treats. Or consume foods high in fiber and protein as they'll keep you feeling full for longer. How about a green smoothie? They're sweet...they contain fiber and are nutritious....and they fill you up and help with curbing cravings. In a blender pour half a glass of orange juice, a handful frozen fruits (berries, and pineapple), a tablespoon of flaxseed powder, a handful of spinach leaves, few cubes of ice, and blend away. The spinach leaves don't really have a taste of their own....so it tastes like a fruit smoothie. Another tip I've read is to brush your teeth when you crave sweets....it helps to reduce the cravings.
Re: Sweet tooth
^ talking of smoothies/fiber and sweet stuff, Butt Sweets, I heard, are pretty good.

are you sure its about sweet 'tooth' only??
Re: Sweet tooth
You cant stop yourself eating chocolates - really?
Re: Sweet tooth
I sometimes eat a handful of cereal to kill the craving. Not sure if it's healthier but definitely less guilty ; )

Personally when I get a craving I make sure I get something sweet to eat, I just don’t get those cravings very often. Try a healthy cereal like chocolate chip Weetabix Minis, I quite like it and I don’t think it’s too heavy on the calories.
Re: Sweet tooth
:k:i make this drink with frozen fruit, spinach and whey protein right before i workout, it tastes great and gives me the energy, it’s supposed to be a fat burner and it works.
