Sweet packets for nikkah ceremnoy

Hiya

After nikkah sweets are distriuted. nowadays small sweet packets are given to all guests.
What is the content of it? chuwaare, badam? and what more???

Re: Sweet packets for nikkah ceremnoy

Yah, you can go the traditional route with chuware, badaam, misri. I've also seen ones with chocolates (even some with chocolates specifically with the bride and groom's names/initials).

Re: Sweet packets for nikkah ceremnoy

Traditional ones, choharay, badam, misri, phulian, Paan masala etc.

Re: Sweet packets for nikkah ceremnoy

Nothing better than a dose of good ol' Meetha Paan on top of Shahi Supari. Both are essential for the atoms inside human body and molecules of nutritional health.

A perfect wedding in the making.

Re: Sweet packets for nikkah ceremnoy

u can add hershey kisses.

i'm not a paan eater but the aunties and uncles seem to love the distribution of fresh paan at weddings.

ladoo ladoo ladoo ladoo ladoo ladoo ladooo

Re: Sweet packets for nikkah ceremnoy

Is it a cultural thing?
Why chuware..? I hate those dry, hard suckers.

Re: Sweet packets for nikkah ceremnoy

^I love chuwareh.

I actually love the whole bidd(those packets) thingie.

Re: Sweet packets for nikkah ceremnoy

May be u can add little mithayee with glittery packaging.. since everything is so traditional, chocolate doesn't really go with it. But yeah, kiddos will be happy :D

Re: Sweet packets for nikkah ceremnoy

I stole a bunch of biddh from the wedding I went to  The were really nice, put in cute little bags with ribbosn on them, with , the ones in Pak, all the biddh were pre-packaged already.. IIts been a month since th ewedding and i still have hte biddh, i’m saving them for someone, i wonder if they’ll still be goood :halo:

Re: Sweet packets for nikkah ceremnoy

^So it was you, and both the bride and groom's sides were blaming each other.

Re: Sweet packets for nikkah ceremnoy

I absolutely love the custom of giving out decorated chuwarey packets on the Nikkah day. For me that's the highlight of the wedding day beside ofcourse bride's grand entrance :D

Re: Sweet packets for nikkah ceremnoy

Fayz,

The story behind chuware, apparently, is this.....

After consuming the chuware, the pits were used to target members of the opposing bridal party or members of the opposite sex.

Light-hearted fun.

Re: Sweet packets for nikkah ceremnoy

mine had chuwaare, badaam, kishmish, toffee, naz pan masala, nariyal and that white sweet thingy called makkhanay or something

Re: Sweet packets for nikkah ceremnoy

ppl add candy and chocolates too. btw the bidd comes from the grooms family so u need not worry about it. Or actually maybe you do

Re: Sweet packets for nikkah ceremnoy

I heard if you eat those chuwarre you get married. I have been eating them for years and it still didnt work

But I like more of the newer stuff, like passing out godiva favours :k:

I know someone who did it all white(ribbon and box) and it looked really nice. People have had lil picture frames, candles, or even lil dolis with candies in it. I think taht was my fav.

How much money are you willing to spend?

Re: Sweet packets for nikkah ceremnoy

Something like this is $1.40 which is very cheap! Considering all you have to do is place it on the tables.

Re: Sweet packets for nikkah ceremnoy

^ R u sure its not 1.40 for EACH favor?? :hoonh:

I would LOVE to put in all cute different little things, esp chocolate.. :yummy: But then i’d end up taking all of the biddh n put em in my lil purse :bummer:

Re: Sweet packets for nikkah ceremnoy

Sara offcourse it is. I think godiva is anywhere from 3.50 to 7.50 per box.

Re: Sweet packets for nikkah ceremnoy

Ohh hehe i thought it was 1.40 for the entire thing :hehe:
