It was good to read that Swati people are celebrating 14 August but I seriously doubt this photo is from Swat

If anything these people look like ethnic Sindhis or Seraikis. It could be that the photo is of entertainers. Swati people are very fair and these simply are the opposite in skin colour. There is no one in the photo who looks anythig like a Swat person. There are people from Sindh, Punjab and even Urdu speaking immigrants who settled in Swat over the decades and centuries and who have married withim themselves so keeping their ethnic appearance BUT I dont feel this photo is of Swat.
Are the Dawn just using any old photo and being lazy journalists or is the truth somewhat different?
I have been in Swat on August 14 in 2000 and they ddi celebrate it with great fervour.
Whats the opinion of other people who see this photo?

you are right .....and paint shirt ..noway it can not be swat.And about dancing and MATAII let me tell you they celebrated the arrival of Taliban then Army then Taliban and now again, so this MATAII things is a bit ......i dont now.

pure and true pashtuns are always of light skin. the dark-skinned are the ones who had settled from other parts of subcontinent.

I guess than at least 40% of pushtuns are not pure. Take the late Baitullah Mehsud for instance. He looks like he moved from Mumbai to Waziristan.

im 100% sure that this picture is not from Sawat/the danicing guy not Sawati but it is also untrue that true or pure pushtun is only light skin.their is no such thing in genetic trum which u called pure.Within the family u will find different skin and eyes colours.

if u remember ALFA BRAVO CHARLI dram. a famious line was that Pushtuno awo Angrizo ki Bache bohat khobsorat hoti hai, yee alag bath hai ki pushtun bad me mushka tarzi zandagi ki waja see badrang hojati hai.
so life style also affect your appearience.e.g heat of Gulf countries..etc
