That’s their so called political will?

What is CJ Iftikhar Chauhdry doing? and what happened to so-called free judiciary? If this incompetent government & judiciary can’t save the people from killers/thugs then they should quit and die in *“chulo barh pani” *.

Why our politician& generals don’t feel shame, how they are able to look in the mirror? they are disgrace to the nation all of the Islamists/Seculars/left/right/center… all of them.

I just hate this so-called silence from the so-called leaders & protectors of Pakistan !

Swat Taliban refuse to lay down arms
Source: DAWN.COM | - NWFP | Swat Taliban refuse to lay down arms

ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Taliban will not lay down their arms in a northwestern valley as part of a deal that included the introduction of sharia law but will take their ‘struggle’ to new areas, a militant spokesman said on Wednesday.

President Asif Ali Zardari, under pressure from conservatives, signed a regulation on Monday imposing sharia law in the Swat valley to end Taliban violence.

The strategy of appeasement has alarmed US officials, while critics say the government has demonstrated a lack of capacity and will to fight the Taliban and al Qaeda.

Details of the deal have not been made public but government officials backing the pact have said part of it was that militants would give up their arms.

But a Pakistani Taliban spokesman in the scenic valley, a one-time tourist destination 125 km northwest of Islamabad, said they would be keeping their guns.

‘Sharia doesn’t permit us to lay down arms,’ Muslim Khan said by telephone. ‘If a government, either in Pakistan or Afghanistan, continues anti-Muslim policies, it’s out of the question that Taliban lay down their arms.’

Some Taliban fighters last week moved out of Swat and into Buner district, only 100 km from Islamabad, and Khan said his men would push into new areas.

‘When we achieve our goal at one place, there are other areas where we need to struggle for it,’ he said.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Tehrik-i-Nifaz-Shariat-i-Muhammdi, which Sufi Mohammad heads, announced a public rally in Mingora on April 19, DawnNews reported.

Sufi Mohammad said the rally is ‘intended to appreciate the sincere efforts and cooperation of the government which has ensured the enforcement of Sharia.’

He reiterated that laws under the Nizam-i-Adl regulation will be tailored for the common man and will provide amnesty to militants.

He further said ‘the decisions of Qazi courts will not be allowed to be challenged in any other court of the country, including the Supreme Court.’

The TNSM Chief asked the people of Swat to work together with the government to maintain peace in the region and praised the Awami National Party for its efforts in implementing the Sharia regulation.

Militants infiltrated into Swat in 2007 from strongholds on the Afghan border to the west to support cleric Sufi Mohammad.

Khan said militants would go to Afghanistan to fight US-led forces if Afghan Taliban called for help.

‘Our struggle is for a cause and that’s to enforce Allah’s rule on Allah’s land. We will send mujahideen to Afghanistan if they demand them,’ he said.

One security analyst, retired Brigadier Syed Mehmood Shah, said peace could be found if the government disarmed the militants: ‘The agreement should be given a chance.’

But another said the Swat militants were part of an expanding network.

‘There is no comprehensive counter-insurgency strategy from the military or government. They are not taking it seriously,’ said Khadim Hussain of the Aryana Institute think-tank.

Re: Swat Taliban refuse to lay down arms

well thats wrong. taliban must disarm!

Re: Swat Taliban refuse to lay down arms

At least the talibs are smart enough to see the weakness of the pakistani state

Re: Swat Taliban refuse to lay down arms

Why can't you guys see obvious fault line in PA/ISI, are they above all criticism??

Fact that Zardari was the only guy against this deal though never spoken openly. Kiyani teamed up with Gillani and isolated Zardari to make him sign the deal.

Even then Zardari to prevent blame game later, pushed it to Parliament so that all are on board in this unauspicious deal.

Whatever, evil Zardari had done in past, but one thing is sure, this man is more serious in fighting Taliban and terror and considers radical Taliban as a serious threat than anyone else in Pakistan at the moment.

The devil is PA/ISI, it's they who are refusing to fight Taliban, because it's they who have nurtured Taliban in past and continue to consider them as their precious assets!!

see the daylight! I will say once again, you can't fight terror with two minds!

Re: Swat Taliban refuse to lay down arms

lol

ok mr. "bharat" why don't you go back on across the border and mind your own business like a good bharati. when taliban comes to delhi, you can deal with them your way. for now it's pakistan's internal matter and you need not troll all over the forum suggesting what pakistan should do. Pakistan doesn't need you to rate its institutions (PA/ISI).

Re: Swat Taliban refuse to lay down arms

Kill them. That simple.

Re: Swat Taliban refuse to lay down arms

You can't brush every Talibani atrocities as Pakistan's internal matter and be done with that.

So if world watched silently the Nazi German's atrocities as german internal matter, where we will be standing today??

Realize this now, Taliban are just like Nazi ideologists. The only solution is to eliminate them physically. The ideology will die when there is no adherent or leader left.

No one is rating your esteemed PA/ISI. Only a factual account that they indeed consider Taliban as strategic assets and support them at one point, while when confronted by USA pretend that they are fighting the Taliban, terrorism, and then whine-- we too are victims only!
As I said, you can't fight terror with two minds. So first make-up the mind whether Taliban are PA's friend or foe.

Re: Swat Taliban refuse to lay down arms

I seriously think Pakistan army should be given the shoot on sight orders for the taliban ... hand a few of them in public and let them freaking taliban get the taste of their own actions .... they think they can take over pakistan in the name of their own shariah? who are we then? we who believe in the peaceful shariah and the sunnah ... where are our rights ?

I as a muslim hate to the core these so called islamists , they are nothing but hell burners and should be shown no sympathy what so ever, I think media should stop calling them islamists , and start calling them murderers instead.

Re: Swat Taliban refuse to lay down arms

you seem to have wrong dose of information.

i agree on this one, there is no point in debating whether anegg came first or a chicken.
this is a threat and it wont stop now whether america is in afghanistan or not.

Re: Swat Taliban refuse to lay down arms

Today you are saying its Pakistan’s internal matter. But then tomorrow when these same Talibanis start targeting other countries while based out of Pakistan and the world starts gunning for Pakistan since they would be responsible for creation of and nurturing the Taliban monster, you will start playing the victim card.

Isn’t that convenient ?? :hoonh:

Re: Swat Taliban refuse to lay down arms

How come the "bomb 'em all" slogan has dissappeared?

The slogan that was all so common amongst the non resident pakistanis 2 years ago.

Re: Swat Taliban refuse to lay down arms

:omg: Zardari knows “fighting Taliban = ching ching”, hence his ‘serious to fight’… but then what do outsiders know :hehe:

Sharia won’t be restricted to Malakand

Sign of things to come ? I know people are going to say that Sharia itself is not bad, its the Taliban version of Sharia which is bad but seems like it will be the Taliban Sharia which they would like to implement over the rest of Pakistan.

================================================

DAWN.COM | NWFP | Sharia won?t be restricted to Malakand: Muslim Khan

PESHAWAR: A Tehrik-i-Taliban spokesman declared Monday that Sharia law would not be restricted to Swat while NWFP’s Chief Minister separately announced that the government will take all possible measures to uphold its writ in troubled areas if militants refuse to stop their activities.
In an exclusive interview with DawnNews, Swat spokesman for the outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Haji Muslim Khan said that the Taliban will not lay down their arms unconditionally.
Meanwhile, NWFP Chief Minister Ameer Haidar Khan Hoti told reporters in Peshawar that the provincial government planned to call a reconciliatory jirga soon to consult tribal elders and senior political leaders on security matters.
He also said that the government will not allow a parallel system of governance to be established in Swat, and that the implementation of the Nizam-i-Adl was the responsibility of the NWFP government.

Re: Sharia won’t be restricted to Malakand

80 something % ppl said yes to shariea
60 something said it should be strictly enforced.

Even if that happens that will be ppl's will.

Re: Sharia won’t be restricted to Malakand

What part worries you most Mr. PIU, I believe you don't live in Pakistan, I guess you are not even Muslim, I am sure you don't know Taliban, and I am afraid you are hardly aware of shariah.

What worries you my dear blogger?.

Re: Sharia won’t be restricted to Malakand

I am definitely with you PM, they champion democracy but only when the voice of people, somehow, resonates with their nefarious design.

Re: Sharia won’t be restricted to Malakand

La Iqrah fe Deen!

is also integeral part of Sharia Law!

So Sharia is not complete without that........

which part will they be enforcing??????????

Re: Sharia won’t be restricted to Malakand

No, I dont live in Pakistan and I am not Muslim.

But I think I know Taliban better than you (atleast I dont have blinders on) and I understand that there are obvious regional implcations of this. Impact of Pakistan going down the Taliban drain is going to be felt in India as well, in case you did not know that :snooty:
