In the above link I read a poetic verse about the Poet's meeting with his Guru. When Amir Khusro's father took him to Hazrat Nizamuddin, Amir Khusro thought a verse in mind and Hazrat Nizamuddin replied in poetic manner. I don't know about it, as far as I know he is very much popular in India.

This is allegedly first document written in Awadhi in devnagri script.
It is considered to be inadequate account of Alauddin Khilji's attempt to take Rani Padmwati and it sings ballads of Rajput valour against Khilji's tyranny, written two centuries after the event it is might not be exact historical account but its cultural effect is much pronounced. It is first work in Awadhi, Ramcharitmanas followed it by around another 50 years.
