swades - the OST

so i was listening away to some bollywood stuff for a change from the usual rock stuff i would listen to. swades was on my winamp list just days after it was released…not because it was a khan flick but becuase the music was composed by apne chaiyya chaiyya musical maestro a r rahman :dhimpak:

and as any other bolly flick music, ek do achay niklay but what really annoyed me was that a catchy song like “ye taara” was completely screwed up by adding those little kids voices especially that kid in the end who i cant figure out if its either a premature baby singing, or if its a digitally pitched lata mangeshkar voiceover.

i wouldve rather listen to marilyn manson or in that case apne faraz anwar singing that part near the end…but not that voice!

i really didnt like any of the swades songs...

totally off topic, i think lata is/was a great singer... but I really really think she needs to stop singing for 20 something actors... the voice just does nto work anymore!

Kids sound funny in that song. Maybe you should listen to it for the sake of entertainment :hehe: and have a few laughs.

The only reason I listened to the whole movie track was coz of Rehman. I don’t go around listening to the songs from new movies. Music isn’t that bad I guess. I can’t remember which one I liked but they’re just fine. A.R. Rehman has started to give a technical touch to his music which has worked well so far but not that good at times. None of his past and present work can beat Dil Se music.

Rehman has been flip floppy this year. Swades is a decent album. Of course cannot touch Dil Se by any means

well i seriously wasnt entertained for tht matter…for his usage of techincal touch in his music, i’d say he used it appropiately in yuva.

and yes nothing can beat dil se.

Oh of course, how could I forget Yuva. I have yuva songs in 3 of my CDs.

you guyz are too much into the "usual" stuff that anything different/decent seems "ch%$#@yapa" .. err swades's songs are awesomee .. seriously what's wrong with the kid's voice? only if they were typical love songs, the whole story would be different ..

I personally think the Yuva album was heaps better... all the swades songs sound the same to me. At least in Yuva, every track was unique

oh c'mon we rahman fans loved it when he tried experimentation with techno (yuva) and classical (taal). now thats what i call different in an industry which is already flourishing with just "run of the mill" music...what a r rahman has done for the industry didnt seem ch%$#@yapa to us at all. but that song....tisk dont make me start on it again....

the songs of Swades are all sitational songs and will sound good in the film...
