I assume that BELOFF and others want to make sure they if they punish them, then they won't be able to come back and sue ICCs pants off in the court of arbitration and Beloff and others won't be disgraced.
It must be a loop hole check that they will be doing since i am sure the defense team must have pointed to the fact that if things are not crystal clear then they will head to the court of arbitration.

^ or court of law and I can tell you just the statement of Loser Logart "we want to make these players example for others" can cause lots of trouble for ICC in court of law....

Did the ICC case/hearing stuff start 5 months ago? the Drama itself started 5 months ago I think. It took a while to get sht together and have the process on the way. Eitherway a few months I think is not toooooo long. I mean sure we would want all cases to be heard and justice handed in a few days but unfortunately that's just not how it works. All the court systems around the world are like that... developing or developed countries. Way too many processes and proper regulations to follow. I am only assuming the ICC has similar processes which might not be the fastest most efficient way *but that's just how it is. *

ICC tribunal's decision to defer the verdict until the eve of the world cup does raise a few eyebrows....if say the world cup were being held in mid-June 2011 instead would the ICC have delayed the final judgement until May or early June 2011? The Lord's fiasco took place in June 2010 and the ICC should have been able to sort the whole thing by September or October last year at the latest. They have been sitting on this decision for far too long. I agree with Zaheer Abbas and Asif Iqbal here

yeah.. true say.. you can look at it anyway you want.. but hinting that this is a ICC conspiracy is a little too far fetched for me.. sure they are pissssed with PCB and have ever right to be but having an agenda against pak cricket in general... meh.. a bit too much.. they just dont care if these guys dont play the WC..they know these 3 are guilty and bans are coming. so its a non issue...
just ocmplicated procedures.. incompetent or overcomplex whatever you want to call it... and the fact that these guys want to cover their assses before handing down harsh bans... seems more like the reason to me personally..

Predicting a life ban on Butt - good riddance to bad rubbish.
Life ban on Asif - a career criminal in many ways - never learns his lesson.
A fine and suspended sentence for Amir - which would be a lesson learned for him hopefully - and he should be careful who he hangs around with from now on.

my guess is just a slow overcomplicated system.... one of the players had REQUESTED for a delay himself !!! they are also probably covering their asses from all corners before handing down harsh punishments.. a 3-4 week delay is no big deal imo for any judicial system/process...

i hate to keep repeating it but im soo disappointed with aamir... asif was a druggie cheat always.. i dint know or care much about butt anyway.... but aamir was an awesome talent... great exciting new fast bowler.. we need bowlers like him in todays batting dominated era..
but blah !!!!!!!!!! :/
now even if he is handed a lower ban. 1-2 yrs or whtvr.. and he comes back.. i will never support or have the same attitude towards him..
