sushi

how healthy is it? i am talkin about eating it like more than twice a week, i seem to be obsessed  The other day i made my brother get it from like this place which is like super expensive n 40 misn away…but wat about that wasabi stuff? I actually like the fake one better, the one that gets to ur nose n all..but someone was like that stuff eats at ur stomach or something? like if you have alot of it without sushi or something

Re: sushi

sushi is supposed to be healthy but don't over eat it. you may not get all the required nutritions if you eat it everyday. wasabi depends on how much u can take. i usually put a drop on my roll

Re: sushi

hehe nahh i like dip it but i saw this chinese show where they show ppl eating like 20ft of sushi roll so i guess i am fine :D

Re: sushi

Yeap i do the same… add 1/4th tbsp of wasabi in abt 1/4th cup of soy sause n then dip my sushi in it … mm mmm mmm :yummy:. As far as eating too much is concerned, excess of everything iz bad …even the things tht r most beneficial to us. So, juss be moderate n ENYOY

Re: sushi

I think wasabi is made out of radish.

I love shishimi, I'll eat it anytime.

Re: sushi

Oh naa na ....wasabi iz that green thingi with very sharp stingy taste udksjdisudoijxx :D actually it has a chemical compound that inhibit the growth of bacteria that the raw fish may have. N yeah they serve pickled reddish with sushi too.

Re: sushi

Restless - The pickled reddish stuff is pickled ginger, one of my favorite things. I love the wasabi, too. I usually only have the vegetarian (fake) sushi while a friend of mine goes all out with the raw fish bleech.

Re: sushi

Wasabi is made out of horseradish and yes it’s the “green thingy”.

Re: sushi

Yeah i realized rite after posting …wht u meant by radish, but it was too late then. My bad

Re: sushi

I love wasabi flavored funyuns.

I also love eating Kimchi.

Re: sushi

My husband once went out to this hot sushi place with his buddy and brought back some of the raw fish he LOVED for me...but I just couldn't even look at it. The only sushi i can eat is the vegetarian california rolls. Seaweed is actually very good for you and the rice and cucumbers not bad either.

Re: sushi

I refuse to have dinner if I dont have wasabi. I love it straight, I dun understand why people mix it up with soya sauce. Yuck!!

as for sushi, its got rice and thats carbohydrates and thats a big No No.

eat raw fish the sishima or sasihma or whatever. It has to be fresh though. No eels though yuck !!

Re: sushi

^ yew refuse to have dinner without wasabi.....whoa thts lil bit xtreme. N who told u tht Carb iz a big no no; as a matter of fact 55-65 % of ur daily calories should come from carbohydrates, recommended by USDA. Unless, offcourse if u r a diabetic. :)

Re: sushi

Its not xtreme at all. I like having food with wasabi. I used to like achaar or hari mirch but we dont get nice achaar here and all hari mirchain are yuck and not hot so now its wasabi

There are other healthy alternatives then starchy rice for Carbs

Re: sushi

^ i have achar n mirchi on a regular basis too  isnt that just like killing my system? all this hot stuff

Re: sushi

The only time I will eat sushi is when it is at a known sushi place. I have had real bad experiences with sushi served at buffets in hotels.

Re: sushi

That stuff is hot! I love sushi but have never been able to eat it with wasabi, despite being desi.

Re: sushi

You gotta put it in the back of your tongue and enjoy the taste not munch on the wasabi, That'll be hectic
Its like chewing jallapenos.

Re: sushi

mmmmm Sushi...Love the stuff.

I dip also but usually end up dipping the whole roll OR the nigeri, I met one guy who was able to flip the nigeri so just the fish got some soy/wasabi rather than soaking the rice.

I think the food is healthy in moderation...the only item to worry about is if the fish is from polluted water thus there are high mercury levels. I think ther eare some limits placed on pregnant women regarding certain fish from some lakes/streams b/c of mercery.
