Its not news. First it was Waseem, who as captain, kept Waqar out. Now its payback time, I guess.
Waisay bhi, Waseem shouldn' be wasted in minor test matches, except if it is to give him match practice. The guy is too good to be wasted. And with match-fixing yada yada yada behind us now, he can be a very valuable weapon in difficult matches.
I think Waqar is doing good as captain. It was wasim who started all this politics and basically screwed Pakistani cricket. Lot of talented players in Pakistan have suffered because of his dirty politics (Amir Sohail, Rashid Latif and Basit Ali to name a few).
Winning is more important than akram breaking records.

Wasim has done a lot of harm to our game but still he's our best player. We're in a bit of a bind here.**

No one should be above the game. If tomorrow Tendulkar starts thinking that Indian cricket is his 'BAAP KA MAAL' he will be kicked out sooner or later. Wasim or no Wasim - Pakistan can win tests without him and lose tests with him in the team. It was his duty to groom youngsters (Like he was done by gerat Imran Khan)and set an example, Instead he chose to insult the game and took advantage of his talent. I still remember Basit Ali - He was a such a fine prospect for pakistan, If he was groomed properly he would be like Brian Lara.
well, asif_k, let us not get carried away here. Wasim has groomed some talent but has ruined more careers (agreed).
Tendulkar is whole different can of worms. This guy has a million centuries to his name yet he rarely features in a match winning situation. I have no doubt that the guy is very, very good and his team is average. But West Indies can't be worse then India and Lara scored some 500+ runs in one series against one of the best spinners in the world. He's done similar things against Australia. So, I don't know if Tendulkar thinks Indian cricket is his "Baap Ka Maal", he probably has some interesting theories on Indian cricket.
