Surahs and prayer.

Hi,

Wondering if any of you guys could help me. I have only recently started to pray and after doing some research on the net i realised i had to read the surahs in order in my prayers. Fair enough.

My query is what order is that? As before i started with qulhu allah then i think i realised i was wrong so now i start with alam tara. But i am starting to think that is wrong too? I cannot find anywhere that tells me a straight answer.

So could someone please just order the 11 surahs in order for me in which they should be read in namaz.

Thanks so much!

p.s I have only read tonight about i think its called salah qada? making up the missed prayers. If anyone would be kindeanough to explain this namaz for me; i would greatly appreciate it! I know that i only need to read the compulsary fard rakats. anytime? any number of rakats for example 14 rakats (to make up for one week) of fard for fajr at once?

I hope i make some sense!

Thanks all in advance!

Re: Surahs and prayer.

depends which ones u know...alamtara, le ilaaf, araitalllazii, inna ataina, iza jaa a nasrullahi, tabbat yada, qul yaa aiyohal kaafiruun, qul huallaho ahad, qul auuzobil falak, qul auzobinnas...thats the order for the last 10 suras of Qur'aan

Re: Surahs and prayer.

Thanks thats the way i have been reading it! Do you not read qulhu allah then after qulouzi rabinaas?

** no, qul huwallaaho ahad is before qull auzo rabbil falaq**

qul auzobe rabbinnas [sura naas] is the last sura

Re: Surahs and prayer.

ahh i know what you mean!
Thanks

Here's the way I've learned it:

  1. You in any set of rakaats, in the earlier rakaats you recite earlier surahs. E.g. I'm making 2 rakats fardh of Fajr, in the first rakaat I'll recite surah 112. In the next rakat I'll have to recite 113.

  2. For the last 10 surahs, you should not skip just one surah e.g. first rakaat I recite surah 105, then I can recite 106 or 108 and up.

Here's a list of the last 10 surahs
105 - Al Fil
106 - Quraysh
107 - Al Ma'un
108 - Al Kauthar
109 - Al Kafiroon
110 - An Nasr
111 - Al Lahab
112 - Ikhlas
113 - Al Falaq
114 - An Nas

Qaza salat is only made for the fardh and witr usually. In certain cases it can also be made for sunnah. So if I want to make qaza for a certain missed salat, then I have to make intention for it and make up the fardh. Like if it is Fajr then I'll make 2 rakaats for qaza for Fajr. So I make the number of rakats for that missed salaat. So if you need to make up for a week of missed fajr, you would have to do 7x2 rakaats with intention for qaza of Fajr.

That's almost the correct order. Surah kafiroon comes before iza jaa (An Nasr).

Thanks terrible guy!

I guess you're not so terrible after all! ;)
