Re: SURAH 94 SHRAH - The expansion
In fact, one of my most favourite verses is "inna ma'a al-'usri yusraa". I remember I kept reciting then when I was extremely sick recently :)

Good to see ya hear ...
Yup ... a good bit of hyponotherapeutix-2000 will be gained from those verses.
the surah serves as a clear sign of struggles upon struggles to ascertain the patience of the believers.
Allah swt invites the believers to attention amidst hardships.
the indication is given that after each hardship there is relief. and it is said twice in the surah.
please share tasfseer regarding this particular surah.
best,

Ash Sharh - The Broadening/Expanding
A Surah for encouragement an early Makkan Surah, a promise of pleasure and ease lay waiting on the broken glass path towards truth.
Learnings:
1) Broadening of Understanding - relieves the burden of what is weighing a person down
Compare with hadith about the companion who was told to seek knowledge when he learned that he would be next to die. The knowledge sought was the understanding gained was the peace obtained with the news of death.
2) A message of his (Muhammad (SAW)) honour/reputation rising. Causing the the affliction also.
3) Hardship is said to be followed by ease, and this statement is reiterated in a slightly different way. Meaning something of subtle distinction.
4) Being hopeful, and when not burdening more thankful too.
This Surah is layered with increase ... From what I have learned Muhammad Al-Shareef, and various Khateeb and a bit of personal thought.
Firstly, it is established amongst the scholars that the two eases are different and the difficulty is one. I.e. Surely after every difficulty there is ease, verily after that difficulty there is another ease.
Look ... the difficulty of early truth was oppression but they had companionship which was one ease and the later ease was yet to come.
The sense of obtaining truth from hard work is rewarding in itself but then Allah (SWT) will give us Jannah in addition to this.
It demonstrates that Allah (SWT) is Merciful and Bountiful beyond our efforts.
A SURAH FOR HOPE
