In which case she will probably only trust Faryal Talpur (Zardari's sister) and put her forward instead!
Hahahaha. Asif Zardari's sister as President. :D

Re: Supreme Court Judgement at 2.15pm PAK time today
It will be announced in just 10 minutes time.
Re: Supreme Court Judgement at 2.15pm PAK time today
I totally agree.
Though, as if expected the Supreme Court does not touch the 17th amendment (with all it's massive Presidential powers), I think the politicians will get into a very bitter Presidential contest to get their man in. For example BB only put Fahim forward knowing he would not win, but if Musharraf is not going to stand then she will be in a real dilema as to whether to let him proceed. After all he could turn out to be another Farooq Leghari and stab her in the back. In which case she will probably only trust Faryal Talpur (Zardari's sister) and put her forward instead!
I think Fahim is much more loyal to her than Farooq Leghari ever was. BTW, 52b (or is 58b?) has the SC court check on it...so president can't automatically dissolve parliament. In other words, court has to ok it before president can dissolve the parliament under the 17th amendment.

Yep, but even when 58-2B was used before i.e. 1993, by Ghulam Ishaq Khan against Nawaz Sharif the Supreme Court overturned his decision, so the Presidential authority to dismiss the PM and Govt is still very much the same.
No ruling yet...wonder what's keeping them?

Re: Supreme Court Judgement at 2.15pm PAK time today
What I find disgusting is political parties, and their activist on the SC stairs with flags and sloganeering. Court should be impartial, and no political activities should be allowed within 100 feet of the SC building.

if someone mocked your religion in that way you wont feel all giggly then, would you?

Under President Musharaf and his govt. it is the first time Pakistanis are seeing democracy in action, and are not familiar with how to behave. :)

I completely agree! The opposition political parties are acting pretty shamefully, and sullying the good name of the court by bringing their crude partisan activities to the grounds of the SC. One day these same people will be cursing the judges when they don't like rulings against them. What they don't understand is that an independent and free judiciary does not mean that judges will always rule against a sitting government - it has to make decisions on the basis of the law, and not be pressured by "awami" or "siyasi" pressures.
Re: Supreme Court Judgement at 2.15pm PAK time today
I wonder if Musharraf's counsel Sharifuddin Pirzada is related to the courts 'friend' Abdul Hafeez Pirzada?

Bhaijan, Pakistanis are not used to this. Democracy and free judiciary are alien to them. :)
Re: Supreme Court Judgement at 2.15pm PAK time today
All 9 judges are now locked in the committee room, drafting the final judgement.
Re: Supreme Court Judgement at 2.15pm PAK time today
