This is such a trend in pakistani fans that we curse, hurl abuses, insults when our team loses and label them world beaters the very next day when they perform better. I thought that was the norm with indians as well but they are supporting their team violently despite their behinds kicked from all angles by australians.
A fine example is sports in England. Man they suck at producing results when they matter the most but they usually have the right backing, whether its Football, rugby or cricket.
If you still dont know what am I talking about, re-visit the first test thread and visit the second test threads between Pak-SL. You will notice the difference.
I know the pain is unbearable sometimes but i feel we can exhibit a slightly more suportive attitude for our team and players.
Sabi, why not support the game, not even your team and just admire good play....Thats what i belive in and i never am terribly disappointed by bad show and feel great on good show.

Sabi Bhi (somehow i always thought u were a Baji and didnt really pay attention to ur threads....i confess, and sorry about that)....yeah you have got this one absolutely right....we have learned this from India...infact more than anything else it is the affect of more and more Media coverage that cric ketrs get which has made cricketrs know that if the follow up few bad days on field with coouple of good days they will be forgiven....and in my understanding i have seen this only since 1996-97...before then things used to be much better infact pakistani people didnt use to care too much for winning and would get more Mad at losing which made people perform better than the players of after that era...when people started giving alot more attention to winning events like ones in Sharjah where the other teams have been likes od SL, ZIm and Newzealand in most cases.
Well ! Indian fans are an exception. I don’t have a comparative example to them. But !!! Die hard fans are a vital part of the teams and the Country.
They play a vital roll in Check & Balance on the players.
Otherwise it is too simplified if we to support the flag rather than the teams n results.
Look closely Sir, these 2 elements are already in practice, ask any die hard fan and he might probably not even mention them. Why ?
Because these elements are “built-in” and not considered as a point of mention or discussion. Rest is all “Blood and Scalp” of the ones who fail. Thus the insult and curses of fans are inevitable-.
Yes! It should not exceed the soft verbal abuse and end in ‘Gundagardi’
Saby i think alot of time the difference is in attitude. I think that if your players go out there and give their 100%, results would not matter. For example in this second test thats going on, we did everything soo well that it does not look like its the same team that was playing the last test. I mean we cannot learn to field that good in a couple of days. i am sure the players could field the same way in the last game too, but they didnt. This test even though if they lose, we are still going to be behind them for the effort.
But the thing is that we say soo much when our team does not do good, but at the end of the day, we will still support them no matter what.
well saby, i dont know abt others, but for me, i have given them ample chance after WC'03...they play so well in any tournament, but suddenly collapse so srastically in the finals that you get the feeling that even bdesh or kenya is better than paki team...infact, i think they are...coz bdesh beat pak in WC'99 and kenya were the semi-finalists in WC'03..
anyways the point is that yes we should support our team and not the results, provided that we stop calling ourslelves the best batting line-up and the best bowling attack in the world...its time to get real baby...
