support the Khalil Gibran International Academy, Brooklyn

a recent article against the Fall beginning of this school Khalil Gibran International Academy in Brooklyn, is so disappointing.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/08/19/opinion/nyregionopinions/19QUkahlenberg.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

with the title article as Americanization 101

the bigotry and narrow minded ness of the racist writer is oozing from the article link below that spurred the effort to protect the assumptions and the condemnation of all the good work that an arabic language and culture teaching
institute has been facing due to some racist anti muslim and anti arab school admin and staff.

anyone interested on further info and analysis of the issue can read up more on the following link:

any thoughts on this and please do write to show support for the Khalil Gibran Academy.

We need to act now to support the Khalil Gibran International Academy. Those opposed to having an Arabic language school in New York are launching yet another episode of vicious attacks against the school and its supporters. Please write a quick letter to the editor today expressing your support for KGIA. Some points to make:

  1. State why we need a school like this.
  2. Name the specific opponents of the school.
  3. Articulate how they use misinformation and lies.
  4. Shame public officials for relying on it as truth (DOE Chancellor Klein, UFT President Weingarten and Mayor Bloomberg).

Below is a list of email addresses and links for letters to the editors at various outlets [Fox, Times, Daily News, and Sun should be on list]. There isn’t much time so please keep your letters concise, 2-4 paragraphs–they will be edited down anyway.
