support for Islamism = support for militancy?

Re: support for Islamism = support for militancy?

the reader and burqaposhx...
I dont know why pakistanis always seems to get excited about palestain/arab problems. Do u guys know what arabs think of pakistanis..a nuicence thats what. pakistan has enough problems to worry about.

yeap. That is so true!

Me wonder about that too.

Sadly many people forget that the modern wave of Pan-Islamist terror aka suicide bombing in foreign lands, was pioneered long time ago by two Pakistani-in-decent kids from UK who went to Israel on British passports to do the heinous act of suicide attacks.

Re: support for Islamism = support for militancy?

I am sorry to enter in this discussion. As you all know due to my poor English I refrain to enter in debate but this is very important news to show the real charecter of Taliban . I am sure that Taliban's many attacks were sponsored attacks and Bait ullah Mahsood was a money maker only.(Daily Times)

Baitullah Mehsud’s aide arrested
By Faraz Khan

KARACHI: An alleged close aide of Baitullah Mehsud - a senior Taliban leader who was killed last year - has been arrested from Karachi, officials of the Anti-Extremist Cell (AEC) of Sindh police’s Crime Investigation Department claimed on Tuesday.

The AEC officials said Suleman Mehsud alias Gul Shah alias Naik alias Lal Khan was affiliated with the banned outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, and a special AEC team had made the arrest from Bin Qasim Town after raiding the area on a tip-off.

Two kilogrammes of potassium nitrate, around 20 metres of detonation wire and a TT pistol was also recovered on Mehsud’s indication; and the investigators are looking for his companions who are hiding in the city, the officials added.

AEC chief SSP Omer Shahid said Mehsud was also involved in the kidnapping of Mazhar Hussain, general-cum-project manager of an international non-governmental organisation ACTED (Agence d’Aide à la Coopération Technique Et au Développement).

“In May 2009, Mehsud and others kidnapped Hussain from Rajanpur and took him to Ladha in South Waziristan by road via Dera Ismail Khan and Dera Ghazi Khan,” he added.

Quoting Mehsud, the AEC chief said Hussain’s driver, who also hails from Waziristan, proposed the idea of Hussain’s kidnapping to the militants and made the kidnapping successful.

“I don’t know the exact ransom that our group had demanded, but I think it was initially Rs 25 million and later set to Rs 2.5 million. They gave me around Rs 55,000, from which I spent Rs 30,000 for a rental car in which the victim was taken to Ladha. The rest was my commission,” Mehsud told the investigators.

The AEC chief added that the accused was working in the banned organisation under the supervision of Taliban commander Shamim Khan who operates the kidnapping for ransom wing of the Taliban in Waziristan for generating funds for the outfit.

Sources claimed that Mehsud had links to several land mafias and a political party in the city.

A case against Mehsud has been registered and further investigation is underway, the AEC chief informed.

Would you say the same thing if Mekkah comes under a non-Muslim control?

Remember Baitul Muqaddas.

And remember what Quaid's views were on this issue. Are you more Pakistani than Quaid? Or did Pakistan have less problems at Quaid's time?

*"But no nation, no people who are worth living as a nation, can achieve anything great without making great sacrifices, such as the Arabs of Palestine are making. All our sympathies are with those valiant martyrs who are fighting the battle of freedom against usurpers." *

MA Jinnah’s Presidential Address at the Annual Session
of the All India Muslim League held at Patna (26-29 December, 1938).

"We cannot remain silent and we must assure the Arabs that Indian Muslims will stand by them."

If people from Karachi are forced out by a foreign aggressor, and they fight back, with rest of Pakistan preferring 'peace', would you call them rabbits only because they do not have a parliament, capital, troops, etc?

This is what happened to Palestinians. They were part of a larger 'sultanate', then an empire, and then forced out of their homes.

Why do Muslim nations where West has interfered have problems? Why doesn't Bangladesh see bomb blasts every day? Why is Malaysia peaceful?

The connection is not Islam and terrorism. The connection is Western interference and terrorism.

Funny that you do not want to study the history and yet be the Khawaja for Palis.

You say, Palis were forced out of their homes. Then how come there are millions of Arabs who are Israeli citizens?

The so called PLO and Hammas is nothing but the Palestinian version of Pakistani Taliban. Unfortunately none of the so called "Arab sultanate" had the army to put down the PLO and thus PLO became powerful. If we hadn't put down TTP in Swat and Buner, they too would be talking about their so-called sultanate.

It is rather E$tupeed to ignore the history while supporting terror.

so what was the name of this larger Pali sultanate? the borders, the parliament,

or that too is just the figment of imagination?

BDesh just banned Jahilin-e-Islami party or other parties using Islam because they are in knee-deep creating terror and mayhem in BDesh.

Malaysia just had Mullah terror that fire bombed churches.

Where do you live? on mars? Don't you get any news? or you simply refuse to learn and be aware of the world round you?

Please let me know if Bangladesh suffers from 'Islamist terrorism' as much as, say, any other country which has been interfering in Middle East. Can you compare events in Malaysia to those in Iraq? Do you have a sense of scale?

Please see the demographics of the land called Israel, in 1922 v/s 1960 in terms of ethnicity and let us know who has been driving whom out. One starts believing in lies when told often enough.

I respect your opinion that we should not promote militancy, but twisting history for your own purpose does not fit well here.

Keeping that debate aside, the point of the thread is whether being a Muslim in appearance and/or substance mean that one supports terrorism or militancy as stereotyped.

Bhai, Quaid also said lots of other thing..like pak being a secular state.. all being equal regardless of their religion...etc
What about that? why only harp on what he might have said about arab/palestine problem? Anyway, the point is there is much to be fixed in pakistan. Its better to spend energy on pak problem than on arab/muslim ummah.

Baitul Maqdas has been under non-Muslim control for much longer period than under Muslim control. And so has been haram sharif.

The core of these buildings has been around since pretty much baba Adam ah and Amma hawwa ah.

And they did OK.

Muslims should not claim exclusive control on these buildings. These are not Vetican or some other temples around the world.

Instead we should allow international status of these buildings and these should be open to all.

Before we jump on the Islamist bandwagon and burn down Pakistan, we must remember what Jinnah asked us to do with Pakistan.

**

Let me, therefore, appeal to you--in whatever language you may put, when the essence of my advice is boiled down, it comes to this--that every Mussalman should serve Pakistan honestly, sincerely and selflessly. (27th August, 1948)

**

Serving Pakistan means, protecting it from the Islamist evil, so that we can avoid the husher nusher of Palestine, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia, and Gad awful place called Awghanistan.
