Support for heavy industries?

Realistically when i first thought up my plans… i threw aside any thoughts i might like to entertain about getting support from the Pak government financially or otherwise to help establish my firm.

However befor i go completely solo, i would like to know from the more learned among you whether you think Pakistani government is in a positition to support heavy industries for example steel plants or Machining plants… becuase fine engineering is something every country needs these days for it to become a power.

Without engineers a country is pretty much spineless…

So to this end what sort of support could a company expect if it was going to set up it’s own plant in Pakistan.

Offcourse theres more than just finance in question things like location and logistics and also local workforce have to be considered… and government support no matter how little is still a welcome help.

Ideally i want to start up a small plant in an established centre of Heavy industry for example Sialkot or Wazirabad where already many of my relatives are running very successfull firms.

I too desire to set up in that sort of area but competion becomes a serious issue… i do not know about the Industry climate around Islamambad which is nearer to me but as far as i know has nowhere near as much heavy industry of the nature which i want to start up… potentially this is a niche market which i could capitalize on…

But at the same time as with all new fields a little help is not amiss.

I have already tried my goverment contacts and am still awaiting news from them so i thought i would post on here see what you guys might be able to advise.
