Supplements

Lets talk about supplementation here.

If you were given one choice out of the following to choose for your post-workout supplement, which one would it be? and why??

Glutamine
Creatine
Whey/Soy protein
Protein Bars?
NO x-plode?

What do you guys think about having multivitamins ? which brand is the best? What makes one multivitamin brand better than the other?

Which supplements should one take on a regular basis regardless of weight training?

or are you totally against supplementing? why?

Re: Supplements

Im totally against

I do no unnatural foods/supplements...I belive anything unnatural is bad for your body.

for pre/after workout- natural proteins and carbs i do are: basic energy drink like luzozade (as u burn of the excess sugar and energys in work-out), and either tuna sandwich, chicken or meat with some veggies, and of course water.

The advanced refines protiens and that above u listed i wud say are more relevant for real-body builders who to fund thier excess muscle desires need excess food intakes.

Re: Supplements

As A Muslim, I don't have much options only few brands of Vitamins and supplements are halal. Most of them have gelatin as non active ingredient derived from pigs. Proteins are also mostly derived from pig liver enzymes and intestines. I called many companies to find out ingredients and most disappoint me and say that right now they dont have any gelatin free but they are working on making gelatin free products too.

Re: Supplements

can u name a few whey protein brands that uses gelatin?

Re: Supplements

N.O xplode is a pre workout supplement.

A combination of whey, glutamine and creatine will be the best post workout stack. If you had to choose just one then go with whey.

When it comes to other supplements then FishOil , Flaxseed Oil and a joint support supplement should be on your list .

Multi Vitamins are important too since most of the food we eat these days does not have the nutritional value it used to have. But I personally dont like to take them unless I am going regularly to the gym. I like ON's multi vitamin and Animal Flex Joint packs for joint support.
