ICC to end Supersubs experiment

Cricket’s first Supersub last July … but the last one is likely to be next month.
The ICC will recommend the end of the much-criticised Supersubs in one-day cricket as well as the launch of a Twenty20 World Championship when its chief executives meet in Dubai next month. The recommendations came from a meeting of the Chief Executives Committee (CEC).
It’s good to see the supersub rule go and I also feel that Twenty20 world cup will be fun. Hope Gavaskar & Co won’t come up with something else more funny or silly.
Alongwith ending the Super-sub rule, I was also hoping for them to diminish the Power-Play rule as well. As pointed out before, implementation of such rules (sometimes) forces even the quality spinners to make way for fast bowlers.
I think they answered that question in the statement posted on CricInfo. The idea was to encourage teams to play all-rounders. Whereas teams were, in fact, opting for additional specialist players (Arshad Khan being an example). **They didn't want 12 players to do the job of 11 players **so the idea is discontinued. For what its worth. I say, good riddance.
I think Arshad can still make the team as a good ODI spinner if Pakistan wants to take one specialist spinner to worldcup.. I think he wold be better option than Danish.
now, take out the power play rule and come out with some rule to favor the bowlers… uhm, something like “for five overs, wickets chor ke kheilo i.e. for five overs stand on the -3rd stump”
Super Sub was a stupid rule, it was crazy that ICC implemented it for as long as it did. Most times it was 11 players against 12. The good ol way if playing is fine by me, no need for the fancy stuff. 20-20 is a good introduction and it would should be fun but ODI's should be keft alone and should be played by the old rules.
Although I do like Some1's suggestion of not announcing the super sub and a teamn could replace one player from any of their 14 announced players in the middle of the game. That would make it a little interesting.
