Starting something good on Wednesday is sunnat.

Nazar's concept is islamic and the remedy is recitation of Sura' Naas and Falaq

Re: superstitions or Islamic Teachings?

superstitions

  1. "not crossing paths of black cats?" - nothing but a supersition that has no basis in islam.

  2. nazar is real - Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And verily, those who disbelieve would almost make you slip with their eyes (through hatred)” [al-Qalam 68:51]

Also, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The evil eye is real and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye."

  1. Haircut - no idea... i've never heard of it so most likely a supersitition

  2. sneezing - again sounds like a superstition
