any takers
lets concentrate on the ODIs first -
suggestions pleaseā¦
bonuses for runs milestones , no of wickets milestones etc do stay ( but with lesser targets)
how about concept of negative points? say a batsman whose average is below 60(or whatever is the decided benchmark) in a inning gets points docked off? or a bowler whose average is above a decided limit ? or who has given quite a few extras?
slow over rate by the bowling team can also be considered for negative points (for the captain)(as suggested by Faisal bhai in the earlier threads.
I was about to give the idea of negative points. My thought was if a batsman is dismissed on duck or a bowler is thrashed for extra runs (lets say more than 7 runs/over in the ODI), than there will be some sort of penalty.
Any bowler who gives up more than 6 RPO, should be docked 10 points for each full 1 RPO in excess. So assuming you are giving 30 points per wicket and Afridi gets 3 wickets (i.e. 90 points), but gives up 8.3 RPO, then he will only get 70 points (docked 20 points). A full 1 RPO less than 6, will score 10 extra points for every bowler. So in our example, if Afridi has given up 3.4 RPO, then he will score an extra 20 points, and with 3 wickets he will get a total of 110 points.
Everyone should affiliate themselves with one team. If the team wins the toss, that scores an extra 50 points for the person. Pure gamble :-D Yayy!!!
Same as above, if the team actually wins the game, score an extra 75 points. Double Yayy!!!
During the Ashes series I felt that most of the results after the 3rd test didn't change and it was becasue alot of people specially those on top had the same key players and there were couple of difference making performances which made all the difference and the resultant margin between all the participants stayed till the end.
I want to suggest something by which you will have the chance to reduce the point difference even if you have more or less same players in your side as compared to the other partipants.
What if every partcipant gets a chance once during the ODI series to pick any player of his choice (obviously that player would be from his original fantasy league squad) and predict his performace. For instance I pick shoaib akhtar and predict that he will pick 4 wickets or more during a particular ODI, and if he does than I will pick 200 bonus points or if he doesn't, I will lose 100 points. Obviously its going to be a gamble and wil be played only when really needed. During the 6 day test match, participants can do it twice duing the 6 days.
Just an idea to bring more spice to the competition and obviously a surprise factor. In this way you can't predict what will happen till the very end of the series, since you never know some one will snatch 200 extra points during the last session and will grab the top position.
he he...will post the announcement today evening...where is ehsan bhai? this time I am sure he will be in the lower rungs..after all lady luck does not smile everytime :)
Bitter Bro are we having the fantasy league for super series? C'mon do it, it will be fun. Specially it will be tough to pick players from ROW in our leagues since we don't know how they will perform playing for ROW against Asutralia.
