Super Dry/Itchy Skin!!

I have super dry/itchy skin!!! I literally can’t stop itching all over all day, its so annoying…

I know the cause of dry skin is due to winter, and I try not to take hot showers, but with single digit weather, its hard not to, however I make sure the water is not too hot. I make sure to lather up after a shower with lots of baby oil and also vaseline, and also more baby oil and vaseline before sleeping, but I still have such dry skin after a couple of hours! ugghh its so annoying…I literally wake up itching…

Also, im the kind of person who applies lotion ALL the time, I have no idea why nothing is working…

do you guys have any tips?? Help!!

Re: Super Dry/Itchy Skin!!

oatmeal baths?

Re: Super Dry/Itchy Skin!!

are you sure you don't have allergies to specific types of material, cotton or polyester, maybe that's why it itches for you. visit a dermatologist and see what he/she says.

Re: Super Dry/Itchy Skin!!

Are you keeping yourself hydrated enough? I have this issue in winter as well. My dermatologist told me to start drinking more water and since then...drastic difference.

Re: Super Dry/Itchy Skin!!

I have the same problem in winter. But this year I have been using Bio Oil instead of moisturisers and stuff and it really works.

I linked a thread in your other thread. My post about it is on the last page.

Re: Super Dry/Itchy Skin!!

is it wrong to put almond oil or olive oil on the skin after a shower, that's what i do every time and it seems to be working ok no probs and my skin feels really soft, i'm not sure whether putting oil on your skin would help with the dryness or itchiness though

Re: Super Dry/Itchy Skin!!

i have started using almond oil on my face as my face feels terrible, becoz of the dry skin ( esp. my cheeks )

apparently its making no difference, as i've used it for just 5 or 6 days

btw a friend just told me that she's using a hydrating cream by "Nuxe" and she said she never found anything amazing than that.... so i might give it a try too, if almond oil fails :)

Good Luck
