Right away Steven Spielberg’s paw prints are all over this brand new trailer for J.J. Abrams’ 'Super 8](Super 8 (2011) - Movie | Moviefone)’ – a film that, up until now, has been shrouded in mystery. Is it another ‘Cloverfield,’ or is it more like early Steven Spielberg (‘E.T.,’ ‘Close Eccounters of the Third Kind’)?
The answer appears to be a mix of both. The ‘Super 8’ trailer that debuted during the Super Bowl gives us more than we’ve ever seen before, and what it amounts to is an action-packed alien flick set inside a small town. Except, unlike ‘E.T.,’ this alien doesn’t look all too friendly. That said, you still have your honest-looking Mid-Western kids running and leaping over neighborhood yards, stuck right smack in the middle of the biggest event in any of their lives. Frankly, it looks pretty cool and very nostalgic (kids of the late-70s and '80s are gonna love this one).
