Sunscreen

Okay - so we all should be using sunscreen daily, but I must admit I’m a little lazy with it, mainly because I wash my face throughout the day (for wudhu) and find it a nuisance and time consuming to apply sunscreen, wait and then moisturise.

I have sunsense daily face (spf 50) - thnk u gina for recommending  - seeing as it’s moisturising, do i need a moisturiser over it? Can I just slather this on?

Otherwise, would a moisturiser with a spf be better - but most moisturisers only contain max spf 15?! If anyone knows of a good moisturiser with a high spf, available in uk please do suggest.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I don't use a moisturizer when I use sunsense, I do use a moisturizer at night though :)

If u do apply a moisturizer then don't forget to always apply the sunscreen first to protect ur skin fully

If I'm applying makeup I always mix macs primer with (spf 50) with my moisturizer. otherwise I don't feel the need to apply moisturizer + sunscreen

how is the sunsense? does it leave ur face ghostly or greasy looking?

It's a tinted gel CE, no white film or residue at all.

Re: Sunscreen

Sunsense doesn't leave ur skin ghostly looking at all, and although it says it's matte, it isn't really - it leaves a "sheen" behind - which personally I don't mind in the least. Though it could easily be remedied with powder.

Thank you for recommending it in the first place :)

Re: Sunscreen

whichever sunscreen you get, make sure it's spf 30 or 50. Those are recommended. There are some that are spf 70, but you don't want to completely block vitamin D.

Re: Sunscreen

how to namazi women wear sunscreen considerin u wash ur face atleast 4 times? do i have to reapply after each namaz? it really becomes a nuisance... pls suggest somethin Gina`

Re: Sunscreen

I've read several articles on sunscreen which state that you should reapply it every 2 hours during daylight time. And yeah...if you wash your face, you have to reapply it as well. So you can probably time it so that the reapplication time falls around wudu/namaz time. Plus, it's not like you have to put it everywhere...for a lot of us Muslimahs, usually our hands and face are the only places that are exposed to the sun. Dunno about the rest of you, but I'm slathering the stuff on every couple of hours to my hands and face and regardless of whether I'm inside or outside. It's a pain, but Alhamdullillah, I must be doing something right because my skin is in good shape.

Re: Sunscreen

thaz the thing.. we can apply it frequently but its a nuisance plus the sunscreen will finish much faster this way.i wish there was some other solution

Like mistral said, sunscreen has to be re-applied every 2 hours. If u are indoors skip it! Just wear it and reapply it when u're outdoors.
