Re: Sunscreen
Yes, I apply sunscreen after moisturizer as a primer before makeup now. What Im doing is massaging the sunscreen into my skin until the white residue fades as much as it can.

There are 2 different kinds of sunscreens - physical and chemical. Physical sunscreens contain active ingredients like titanium dioxde, which work by forming a physical layer on top of the skin that reflects UV radiation. The problem with these products is that they often leave a whitish film on your skin. Chemical sunscreens are absorbed into the skin, and prevent absorption of UV radiation. They usually have a more cosmetically pleasing result.
I've started recommending that my patients use a sunscreen containing helioplex...its a chemical sunscreen, its long lasting, and it provides broad spectrum UVA/B protection. Best of all, its made by neutrogena, so its not very expensive at all.
I used to use that. Its another physical sunscreen, and it definitely used to leave a greyish film on my skin.
However, sunscreen is only effective if its applied liberally and frequently...and unless you're willing to do that even with a $50 tube of designer product, its probably a good idea to buy something cheaper.
If you purchase a good quality physical sunscreen such as the one I mentioned by Shiseido, they will rarely leave any residue behind. Cosmetic companies know this and Shiseido is immensely popular for their skin care products so I'm positive they try to get rid of the residue problem in their sunscreens.
Chemical sunscreens on the other hand use chemicals that are absorbed by the skin and may lead to allergic reactions, irritations, reddening of the face, etc.
I think the sunscreen I mentioned is a great deal because not only does it not cause any irritation/ reaction, but it hasn't left any residue atleast on my face. At the same time, I don't apply a huge amount of it either, I apply just as much as moisturizer.
Each type of sunscreen has it's pros and cons so it really depends on your preference.
Sun Sense- Daily Face.. Innovators in sunscreen technology. SPF 50+ matt formula, oil-free base. Very high protection and I love it!
Gina - does this stop tanning??
^ Yes it does..
It was formulated for very sensitive skins and for people that recently underwent chemical peels or microderms..
Re: Sunscreen
Gina i know it says daily face but would these be effective on body also
I’ve been searching for such sunblock for years and after reading the reviews for this product, I’m gonna give it a shot…Up until now, I’ve been using Neutrogena sunblock…It’s not the best one in the world but still better than the other I have tried.
