Re: Sunnat and 'Ahle-Sunnat'
Salamun Alaikum
This is not the only one but there are two more ayaat have hsed the same word. 8:38 Say to the Unbelievers, if (now) they desist (from Unbelief), their past would be forgiven them; but if they persist, the punishment of those before them is already (a matter of warning for them).
18:55 And what is there to keep back men from believing, now that Guidance has come to them, nor from praying for forgiveness from their Lord, but that (they ask that) the ways of the ancients be repeated with them, or the Wrath be brought to them face to face?
But in all the above ayaat Allah has used this word as "Ta`ana", like Alah has used the word 'ilaah' for false gods of disbelivers. So as you cannot term someone or something as 'Ilaah' except to Allah SWT similarly you cannot use the word 'Sunnat' for Other than Allah SWT.
And it is not only the Ahle-sunnat people who are using this word at the wrong place but all the sacts of the Muslims are making the same mistake. so I am not directly pointing Sunni brothers but I am talking in general.
I hope you may understand my point.

no, i dont see ur point....
its just a vague discussion....
the word sunnah was not invented for use in Quran, it was there in the Arabic language even before Quran and it was never a reserved word.....
