Sunderland seal Turner transfer

**Sunderland have signed Hull City defender Michael Turner for an undisclosed fee.**The 25-year-old centre-back has signed a four-year deal with the Black Cats.

Hull boss Phil Brown said offers for Turner, who was chased by several clubs, had been “getting towards a ridiculous valuation”.

Turner began his career at Charlton, before moving to Brentford and then to Hull for £350,000 in 2006, playing 146 games and scoring 13 goals.

Last season Turner was one of only two players to play every minute of all 38 Premier League games - other being Sylvain Distin for Portsmouth.

Sunderland manager Steve Bruce has worked hard to recruit defensive targets this summer, landing Paraguay international Paulo da Silva and loan signing John Mensah to date.
