Okay this week’s update :smiley:

Me my parents, mamo and his wife all went to The Cave, a Chinese/orientel place in Joharltown.. the outside was a cave, and inside it was dark, but nice.. the decor was kewl too, i liked how on every table there was a bunch of sardaar/blond jokes :cb: We ordered the chicken corn soup, sweet n sour chicken, mutton rice for them, and chicken in teriyaki sauce wiht veggie rice and salad for me.. for a drink I had a pina colada, for the first time :smiley: Although it took longer than I wuda liked, it was worth teh wait.. the food was deliciousssss :yummy: Their portions were very generous and the price was right.. the bill came to be abt a thousand, and thas not bad at all considering we ate till we were stuffed n there was still food left to take home.. Oh and our waiter was really cute :blush: i’d highly recommend this place :k:

"dumpukht"in pc hotel has also best mughlai food but it is a bit expensive and food quantity is limited.

Pakistan is not some Jurassic Park.

Pakistan is the 7th biggest country (population wise ) and an important player in the region.

It has its own set of problem and attractions.

Locals here face these problems in their struggle for survival and they enjoy hanging out with friends and family whenever they get time.

Visitors (of pakistani orign) who come here on vacations, can have non-stop fun as they have highly valueable $$$ and they dont have any concern with on-going business in the country. But after they are done they can go back and bad-mouth about this nasty country evil people who live there ....

When I was in lahore last year, we went to Ziafat and Desibaba. I dont know where exactly in lahore these places are but they were pretty good. Ziafat had this boufet thing where you could chose from tons of dishes and Desibaba was a two story restaurant with desi food (also sort of a boufet). Both were better than I expected for Pakistan :k:

Buffets r good if u have a big appetite and can eat a LOT in one sitting.. most of those places that charge per head, they don't let you pack the stuff n take it home.. imyself cannot eat more than a certain amt in one sitting, and I feel it'd be a waste of $$ becoz I cud not finish my plate..

Okay here’s a suggestion.. if you want a light, nutritious meal in a nice upscale location, , well you woulda been disappointed last night, as FOod street is not it :stuck_out_tongue:

I finally tried food street last night. Mamoo ne davat kee thi humari :slight_smile: We sat down at one of the first tables when u enter the gate.. we ordered mutton kababs, chicken kababs, chicken tikka, chicken biryani and two mutton karahis (1.5 kilos gosht I think).. along with the rotis, raita and botals which r standard wiht any desi meal … Foodwise, I didnt like the biryani at all, I thot it was wayy too greasy.. I like dhte kababs n tikkas , im not a big fan of mutton.. i admit that i loved the rotis, they were patlee and hot and crispy, jus how i like em :yahoo: I don’t think food street is really known as much for the actual food but rather the street :cb: it was drizzling slightly, so we went inside and oh my god, the place inside just stank.. it was really low class, ganda farsh, dust all over, etc.. we figured it was better to eat outside.. so we go back outside, and the hanairee (duststorm i think) began.. food came quickly, and we ate as quickly as possible.. that was the funnest part, eating quickly before it was all blown away.. who knows someone mighta inhaled a makhi w/o even realizing :p.. while we waited for the food, i was lookin at all the buildings/houses..i was surprised that ppl actually lived there.. for some reason i started thinkin of mardi gras (but w/o all the badmaashi-ness).. It was a gud xperience tho..As skanky as it was inside, if they were to fix up teh inside, then it wouldn’t really be “food street” it’d just be another restaurant.. itd’ lose the charm of eating on the street :phati: I think one thing they can imprve on is having umbrellas on the tables, so that the rain n duststorms wudnt disturb the diners :naraz:

Afterwards we were walking down the street a lil bit, (coz we had sat at the first table upon entering the gate).. just looking at everything.. i wanted an ice cream cone to finish off my food, one of those things that comes straight frm the machine, but i settled for a conetto instead .. so.. Food street, :k:
