Sunday night dinners in Lahore

Re: Sunday night dinners in Lahore

Last night we went to Nando’s, also on MM alam road.. The decor was a plus, it wasnt’ too crowded but it wasn’t too empty either.. i ordered the half-chicken meal that came with two sides. For the sides I chose fries and the Peri rice. The three of us shared the meal, with lemonade for me and chai for my parents.. THe rice was spicy :bummer: and they were kinda stingy with the fries (is it a common thing among these places ? ). But the chicken made up for that :yummy: The lemonade went well with the chicken; your’e allowed to choose how spicy you want the chicken, from four levels of “peri-peri”, lemon-herb for the weak :frowning: , mildly spicy, spicy and xtra xtra mirchi :teary1: n i chose the first.. The waiters were quick and polite and we had a gud table..

What i found interesting were the six placemats on our table.. each had the whole history of “Nando’s” written down.. my dad asked me to read what was written on it coz he hadnt brought his glasses.. supposedly the logo for nando’s (which originated in Johannesburg) comes from an old myth/legend that tells the story of a pilgrim who was passing through and was accused of theft.. brought before the judge, he started to pray and the judge was abt to have his dinner and the guy cried out “if i am guilty, that chicken will come alive!” and so the chicken came alive, proving his innocense.. so basically the kukri logo for Nando’s is a sign of justice and equality and blahblahbalh.. Now, the real story (according to my dad anyway), is that Nando sold nan-kababs in karachi.. lol either way, it was gud food :k:
