I just booked us a place in Crete, booked plane ride from Athens to Crete, booked ferry from Crete to Rhodes (with a day in Karpathos), and booked plane tickets from Rhodes to Athens. Did it all online.
It’s amazing, the flights and the ferries are so inexpensive. The place we will be staying is in Agios Nikolas, Crete, is beautiful with our bungalow room looking onto the sea of Crete. 3 minute walk to the beach.
Madhanee, I think you go to Greece every summer so you should be quite the expert compared to the rest of us. :)
Tell me, which is your favourite spot? Which island has the most to offer? Have you been to Cyprus? When is the best time to go to avoid tourists but get good weather?
The best time to visit is anytime between April and October… June July August are very touristy… actually August is pretty good time to go to Athens… caz all Athenians leave for islands in August, and it is less crowded, and there’s plenty to do and see in Athens (at least a weeks’ worth).
We do go to Greece (roughly every other summer) and my favorite is the southern coast of Peleponisos (any thing from Kalamata to Nafpoli to Yethion) and I think from the island groups, I like the Cyclades – (the whitewashed houses and churches). but any island is good for me, I like the Aegean islands also. I love the Med.
My mother in law comes (she died a few years ago) from Volos (in Pelion, mainland Greece) and that’s also a very neat place to visit. Father in Law is Maniati (from Mani region) of the Peleponisos.
Greece is really a wonderful place to visit. I can never have enough of it. Lovely people, great food, great beaches. All around fun palce to visit.
Rates for plane tickets for within Greece is like 100 Euros per leg, Ferries are 100 Euro per cabin, the place we are staying is somewhat pricey, like 3500 Euros for 2 weeks in Crete and I have yet to book something for Rhodes for 4-5 days.
Tickets from here to Greece is roughly 1400 dollars r/t...
Umar and Sadiyah, which places do you think are boring? Please name them. Thanks.
