1.) Sunscreen & sunblock, VERY important. Use a moisturizing one if you have dry skin or a gel/water-based one if you have oily skin. Don’t forget to reapply every 2 hours.
2.) Don’t skip the moisturizer, when you wash/cleanse/tone it strips your skin of natural oils and you need to put moisture back into your skin. Switch to a water-based moisturizer or face serum.
3.) Lip balms, use balms with a broad spectrum sun protection.
4.) Switch to summer make-up. Tinted moisturizers and mineral makeup, dry foundations, bronzing powders instead of cream blushes and water-proof mascara.
5.) Exfoliate regularly, sun..sweat..sunscreen..dust all builds-up. Remember to exfoliate regularly. Use a good quality scrub on your face and body or a loofah/body-brush.
6.) Spray your face several times a day with rosewater that’s been in the fridge. It’s really refreshing, tightens your pores, neutralizes your skin and it smells lovely!
7.) Use a lightweight eye-gel instead of a heavy-weight formula around the eyes at night and place chilled cotton-pads soaked in rosewater before you sleep.
8.) Aloe vera gel for the sunburns.. if you get sunburnt apply yoghurt directly onto the area and leave it on for 30 mins before washing-off.
9.) Invest in a good mattifying balm, pre-powdered blotting sheets/papers if you’re prone to shine.
10.) Drink lots of fluids and keep hydrated!
