anyone know where to get nice summer dresses in UK…and if they are sleeveless then whats best to wear on top? boleros?

Have you tried boohoo? they’ve got some great dresses you can get them with sleeves or if they havent just wear a t-shirt under thats got short sleeves. Thats what i do.

so is it only me who thinks wearing a shirt underneath a dress looks super tacky and a bit masculine?

^ I wouldn’t say it’s tacky, but I do know where you are coming from. I am not a big fan of that either. Some of my hijabi friends wear the dresses that way, because it’s so much easier since the under-shirt covers the entire neck area, so no hassle of fixing the hijab around. I wear the hijab as well, but I almost always put on a matching/contrast cardigan over the dress. It works better for me this way. Yep, I have to do some extra work to make sure the hijab covers the neck area, but that’s okay, it’s worth it! 
Overall, I am a big fan of maxi dresses, because they are just soooooooooOoOooo hijab-friendly. Love em all!

if someone is mega skinny then the shirt under a sleeveless dress might very well work if it looks nice
but i always wear something like this that matches the dress well
a short cardigan or shawl that makes it look elegant and chic
