Suicide...

Re: Suicide…

I havent watched the video either, just btw.

A person usually considers suicide when he thinks that he is trapped, and there is now way out, and the only way to escape the sufferings is death. If he is a Muslim, and is still contemplating suicide, it means he is feeling so hopeless that he would rather be in hell or aalam e barzakh than stuck in his present situation. Or maybe he thinks he wont end up in hell after all, because according to him suicide seems to be the only way out.

Now, if you tell him he is doomed, and he will burn in hell because suicide is haram, chances are he wont listen. But if you tell him why suicide is haram, why hopelessness is a sin, why patience is a virtue, how dua changes destiny, he might understand.

I find it funny how people put Islam aside sometimes. Islam is a way of life. By all means get professional help if needed. But dismissing everything that is related to religion and tagging it as fatwa doesnt make sense.

Suicide rate is much higher in USA and Canada than Pakistan, even though people there have more access to sociologists and psychologists, and even though there are a lot more problems in Pakistan. I am pretty sure religions has something to do with it.
