Just curious…
Just wondered whether if people if they believed in reincarnation whether they would actually commit suicide…
I mean say your having a bad day and your just generally not satisfied with something…whats to stop you topping yourself in the hope of coming backl different in another life…So if you not meeting your wishes and dreams why wouldnt you just top yourself…or why would youe even fear death…
Like say if i was a buddhist or a hindu and life was being bad to me then i wouldnt think id have a problem topping myself if life was being a *****…
How does reincarnation make your life valuable to you…Cos say as a Muslim you believe you live once and thats why your life is crucial to you but if your just gonna come back then why would your life matter to you…why would you fear death or even taking your own life…why would you not just do what your heart desired since your gonna come back anyway?..

Well what im asking is whether the idea of reinicarnation makes suicide less of a deterrant...
A guy may want to top himself but realises he may go to hell while for a hindi or buddhist you get to start over again...

yes, but as a hindu they believe they’ll come back but as a different entity… maybe as a mountain or a fish etc…

I would suspect its really the same as believing in hell and heaven! like just b/c u think u will go to heaven doesnt mean u will kill yourself! specially since thats a sin!
so similarly i suspect that hurting yourself is a sin in the faiths that believe in reincarnation so even though u may think u may come back in a better situation (kinda like going to heaven) you could b/c u hurt yourself come back as a rat/ something worse you know!
anyway i still think you are just trying to get a rise out of ppl who believ in reincarnation.

i am not sure but i think the belief of reincarnation is that if you screw up in first life then you come back more messed up. according to a hindu collegue of mine they have 7 (or was it 8?) rounds in this world. Say if you mess up in first life you'll come back as a lesser human being. Thus the caste system, brahmins kept it tidy thus they were born brahmins and if you screw up then you might come back as something else.
NOTE: it was told to me by as i said an acquaintaince , who happened to be brahmin , if it offends anyone because of inaccuracy then i apologize in advance.

And the difference between a Muslim is when you die it is actually the end and you know you will go to Hell...

Suicide is not a massive sin in Hindu faith, just pointless. If someone figures they can check out of this life without paying for all the bad karma they haven't paid for, they got another think coming in next life. You will pay in the next life with compound interest.

every faith has a promise of something better to come.....it's the ultimate carrot.
even the hindu faith commits that you will be rewarded for your good deeds by coming back higher up in the caste system.
there is never any reward for taking your own life.
