Suicide bombers surrender

Nadia:
The last time the Iraqi people fought for their freedom and their land was in 1991 following the Gulf War. Tragically, we did not see fit to support them in their cause and they were brutally defeated by Saddam. Now, the Iraqi people are not fighting for “their land, …. for the Tigris and the Euphrates and the civilizations that used to thrive alongside these historical rivers.” They are not doing so because they know the US and UK are not trying to take that away from them but rather give it back to them and reverse the outcome of 1991. The only ones who want to fight are those who know there is no place for them in a Saddam-less Iraq or those who are forced to by Iraqi guns.

*Kareem asks: Do you really believe that US always fights for your freedom and security? *

No. Sometimes we fight out of totally humanitarian reasons and for the freedom and security of others …. like saving innocent Muslim lives in Bosnia.

  • Kareem asks: Do you really believe that Saddam was/is a threat to US and your way of life? *

Not right now and not in the future. Before, yes.

  • Kareem asks: Please enlighten us with your way of life? *

It would take too long.

  • Kareem asks: Is it killing innocent civilians and then telling the world that we are there to liberate them? *

No.

*Kareem asks: Is it imposing economic sanctions on a war ravaged country? *

No. In fact, I guess you need to be reminded that it was many of those now in the anti-sanctions crowd that were so adamantly in favor of imposing sanctions against Iraq following the Gulf War. Does Chomsky ring a bell?
