The area attacked is one where many foreign workers are. The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the military wing of Yasser Arafat’s Fatah movement, took responsibility for the attack.
TEAt least 23 people were killed and 100 others were wounded - seven critically - in a double suicide bombing at around 6:30 P.M. Sunday evening at the Old Central Bus Station in south Tel Aviv.
The two suicide bombers blew themselves up within less than a minute of one another, at the corner of G’dud Ha’ivri and Neve She’anan streets in south Tel Aviv.
“It seems according to evidence in the area that we are talking of two suicide bombers. Two explosions happened in parallel streets… It’s a place where there are many foreign workers,” Tel Aviv police chief Yossi Sedbon told Army Radio.
Dr. Yona Tannenbaum, the head of Abu Kabir Forensics Institute, said that the majority of the victims were Israeli, despite the attack occurring in an area frequented primarily by foreign workers.
Police spokesman Gil Kleiman said that the explosive devices used by the bombers were loaded with metal shards in order to maximize the destruction.
“From the extent of the damage on the scene… they were very strong explosive devices. In each case metal fragments were added to the explosives to increase the amount of death,” he said.
All violence against humanity should be condemned, including these suicide bombings. At the same time the IDF attacks on palestinian civilians with hundreds of women and children shot dead and thousands of palestinian homes bulldozed is also evil ! Also ask yourself who is ILLEGALLY occupying palestinian lands, who is denying the rights of the Palestinians to setup a homeland which is their right under International law… Sadly its the civilians on both sides that continue to suffer.
These terrorists killed some innocent people again. Now Israel will retaliate and kill some innocent Palestinians. Then more suicide bombers will come. The cycle of death will continue.
These attacks do not help anyone. I wish these goddamn people would understand that and stop killing each other like this. They are only hurting themselves. How hard is it for both sides to go to a negotiating table, understand that all their demands cannot be met, and make some compromises and move on with their lives.
it seems like that the powers that be on boith sides in the conflict need the conflict for their own reasons, whether it is tons of monetary assistance or grip on power.
the innocents will continue to suffer as they have suffered for a half a century.

I had seen this one coming, since the repression from Israel has reached a new level over the past couple of weeks. Close to thirty Palestineans were killed between Dec 25 and Jan 02. Only the brutal policies of Israel are to be blamed for this suicide attack. Sharon is only bringing death and destruction to his own people.
I am so sick of this... revenge game being played out.
This literal " Do unto others" game.
Peoples..this is not what the above phrase intended.
This "Eye for and Eye" game.
Peoples... My thinking... all ready been an eyefull.
Myself?
Would like to see the brave enough person ... to put an end to it. Someone strong enough to stand up and say... hey..enough.
Nothing is being solved here. Kinda like those Israeli guys in prison because they don't want to get involved with the IDF and infringe on human rights...
Like to see some Palestinians doing the same thing.
In my book..
They are the bravest of the brave. The most holy.
If anyone has ever seen the movie ... Meet me in St. Louis..
Instead of being the most horrible... can become the most holy.
Homicidal zealous maniacs like Sharon don't deserve peace unless they can prove they have changed their colours. In a position of power they have everything in their heavily weaponised hands. I would suggest a good move would be to start dismantling a few settlements instead of building more but it's unlikely so expect the killings to continue. And frankly, it's what Sharon wants but then what do you expect from the Jewish version of Bin Laden?

the only difference is he is all free to do wotever he wants rather than to hide his A$$ in caves!
As long as a blind eye is turned towards all the massacres by Sharon and as long as he is called "A man of peace" every time he commits murder of innocent Palestinians, then this cycle of voilence will continue.

I hope saner voices than yours prevail and peace finally arrives for innocent Palestinians and Israelis.

Try and read what is written before making silly comments like this. I am only pointing out to the causes of the voilence. It was not me who rewarded Sharon by calling him "A man of peace" when he was killing innocent Palestinians.

Now that response is pretty lame. How can calling Sharon a "Man of Peace" be a "CAUSE" of violence? You think the suicide bombers sit in their apartments watching the news, breathlessly waiting for someone in the US Administration to call Sharon a man of peace, which triggers the violence neurons to fire which in turn sends them zombie-like into Israel with explosives strapped to their backs?
Suicide bombing pre-dated Sharon's government by a large number of years. In fact, the pace of such bombings increased considerably following the signing of the Oslo accords. It is more accurate to say that events signifying progress in reaching a peaceful political settlement usually "cause" an increase in the number of suicide bombings. This is so because the militant wing of the Palestinians do not want a political settlement. (To be sure, there is also a militant wing among Israelis who like to do nothing better than provocate the Palestinians when there is progress on the diplomatic front.)
