BAGHDAD: Suicide bombers killed 67 Iraqi civilians and policemen in Iraq on Friday in escalating violence that has cast doubts over the new government’s ability to defeat insurgents.

In the deadliest blast of the day, a suicide bomber in a car blew himself up near a vegetable market in Suwayra, killing at least 58 people and injuring 44 others, said a police official said.

In another attack, a suicide car bomber blew up his vehicle beside a minibus carrying policemen in Tikrit, killing nine policemen and wounding several, said local police.

Also in northern Baghdad, a resident alerted police after he saw bodies being buried. Police found the corpses of 14 men. Some of the victims, who were blindfolded and wearing civilian clothes and left in a garbage dump, had been shot in the head.

… An armed group has kidnapped six Jordanian contractors working for the US military in Iraq, Qatar-based satellite channel Al-Jazeera said on Friday, showing video footage of the hostages.

Do all these deaths bother the Americans or do they just spend all day sniffing free Iraqi oil?

Re: Suicide bombers kill 67 Iraqis in more violence

^ It bothers us Americans like it bothers all people around the world. We are all very sad that sunni terrorists have no regard for human life and are driven by their reliious hatred for other muslims and peoples.

Can you remember any suicide bombers blowing up Americans when Saddam came to power in a revolution? Obviously not, it was all peace then but as soon as the Americans occupied the oil fields in Iraq, that's it, thousand of suicide bombers came out of nowhere. Why was there so much peace before the Americans?
